The finest Master of the Air ever. He had energy vs. altitude down pat. He has on vid of the interior of his Aero Commander where he places a glass of water free standing a top his instrument panel. He then goes through several of his maneuvers including loops and 4 point turns. Never once does the glass move nor does the water slosh. That is control of energy and air speed.

I sure did enjoy watching his airshow displays. I'd love to know how much speed he would initiate the engine-out maneuvers with. He must have been hauling ass.
