So many wood shops in my area have failed so I'm really risking getting myself into woodworking but I have the passion to push for the long run. As a software developer by profession, building a website is not a problem. It's what I do for a living. In fact I'm already building it. The problem is people aren't willing to pay good price for quality work. Its tough here. I might have to search for customers in the middle class bracket and up cus I don't want to cut down on my standard for woodworking products. The question is how?
@liqwoodforestКүн бұрын
@@aberba that is a great question. I also live in an area where the general public does not want to pay a certain price point. So, I've worked hard at using some of the ad efforts in a tri-state area. Then I started making certain items in the public's price point that keeps my confidence and consistency up in my business AND referrals keep coming. I have probably 3-4 repeat clients every year now. Sometimes larger purchases. Other times just a mud bench or something similar. You bring up a valuable point though. I'm actually working on a video about this subject I'll be posting soon

Assuming that was a sealer you applied before the pour, what is it? Thanks!
@liqwoodforest28 күн бұрын

Im a remodel contractor and woodworker both self taught but building furniture and home decor its what i want too do as a business but im so lost when it comes too marketing myself, its wayy different then it was in 2014ish when i left the asbestos removal industry to learn to be a builder, i can build beautiful stuff but it means nothing if i cant get my work or a product out there. And i agree there is a ton of competition out there gotta be the very best at the one thing you want too hustle i guess! Great tips man
@liqwoodforestАй бұрын
Definitely understand. I appreciate you watching. The marketing world is so so different now. Social media for better or for worse is definitely the right place for furniture and home decor. But even more you being your brand is key. Most of my clients choose me because of me. Not that I am way way more talented but just the story I give for each piece and so on. Again I'm glad you enjoyed it. You'll have to let me know if you gain direction. I'll be posting a more detailed video soon about marketing yourself as a builder

@liqwoodforest learning too make some kind of content for advertising has been my hardest hurdle, it's just a skill I NEED too take some time and become more knowledgeable and skilled in that's for sure, posting all the time on social media is a hard habit to get into. Because paid ads feels worthless if I can't sell myself first ultimately
@liqwoodforestАй бұрын
@@bradlyjohnson60 I agree 1000% I'm not trying to push you on my content but I just made a video some months back about ads. I'm going to talk more about that because I've been using ads for my furniture off and on for the last several years. Trying to share with other people in this space like you and I to help lower the learning curve through some of the mistakes and successes I've had with it. The ads do work but in moderation is my best recommendation. The content itself is definitely worth its money, but I agree. I've had trouble staying consistent over the years but I've gotten clients that pay top dollar from seeing my content which is super motivating when you get your first one and then it keeps going from there
@bradlyjohnson60Ай бұрын
@liqwoodforest I completely agree, and I will loom through your stuff some more and check it out and take notes my friend thank you for your thoughts! It's greatly appreciated since I don't have many I can turn to, too ask my questions about business and how it works pertaining too the woodworking industry, especially if you want too a custom builder or commission builder or just build and sell art, I'd ideally like to establish my brand with single products I can Mass sell while building my name and doing give aways or selling a custom peice or two on a website

Do you seal your edges before you deep pour?? Is it a necessity??
@liqwoodforest10 ай бұрын
I have done with and without. Honestly, I have not seen a huge difference in curing. The idea of sealing edges is to limit bubbles releasing while your epoxy cures. If you pour with sealed edges, you have to scuff them up after sealing or your edges won't bond.
