Have driven around Albox, and Cantoria's lights are the best, (no offence Geoff, but they are even better than the dash cam can pick up) so definitely worth a visit, have a walk around, visit the bars, you will love it. Thank you Cantoria Town Hall for all your hard work. Thank you also Geoff for your tour and for posting.

Cover? Sounds like a reproduction to me. Very well done, emulates the original nearly exactly, so I wouldn't necessarily call it a cover, it's kind of more like a tribute, an homage, a skillful, paint-by-the-numbers replication. Reminds me of how famous artists used to have many apprentices in their studios, painting in their style and following them exactly, learning from them, but not following their own muses. Anyway, I just learned how to play this song today after being in love with it for the past 20 years of my life. Finally got around to obsessing over their music. It's incredibly inspirational and makes me want to write weird, beautiful, idiosyncratic pop songs.... but I would love to cover this song as well!

Although I do love the voice of whoever is singing, it's like a more palatable Andy Partridge! Love your voice mate.

Hi Alex, thanks very much for your kind comments. The clever stuff was all done by Jim Schreiber. I heard his instrumental cover of the song, and asked if I could add vocals. I see what you mean about a homage or tribute, rather than a cover, and people have asked "why?", which is valid I guess, but I would just answer, because we love it, and because we can. Of course, I do other stuff as well (and I expect Jim does), including original material with a UK based prog rock band called 'Spiral Planet', if you are interested, here's a link: facebook.com/SpiralPlanet/

Oh of course. I don't question why you do it at all. Finding out how a song works and what makes it tick is how you become a better musician anyway. I think it's extremely impressive. I wouldn't be able to re articulate what they did with this level of detail. I think the only thing he got wrong were the rhythm of the tambourine hits. But everything else is pretty much flawless. Thanks for the link!
