Sounds like the caliper rubber boots need to be replaced and grease the caliper pins. Your brake pads are constantly rubbing making your engine have to force thru all the pressure. Also could clean the front abs wheel speed sensors. Dont unplug the electrical connection or you will have the abs light come on. Probably why yours is stuck on. Need an expensive scan tool to turn abs lights off

Possible engine ECU? That does control all the stuff including signals from gas pedal which is nolonger mechanical cable but fly by wire to the Tranny. Just a thought, any Envoy 4.2 6 cyl ecu should work, from a junkyard.
