Yeah, even if I think that the deluxe remaster seem excellent, and I'll buy it day one. The redesign of Larry was the only criticism that I could really make here. Yeah, I can see the stereotypical aspect of the Chinese who serve anything type of meat. But come on, Larry was personally the creepiest character of the game for me. And the redesign seem just bland. So even if I can understand the redesign, I still think lost the charm of the original in this case.

Yeah they changed Larry to not be asian to avoid offending the soylent white suburbanites, got to appeal to... M O D E R N A U D I E N C E S This studio was getting a little woke in RE 4 Remake too. Capcom still makes good games but it's disappointing to see them buckle to this, especially censoring classic titles. Deluxe Remaster doesn't look bad but stuff like this and removing TJ Rotolo especially sucks. It'll play as good as the OG but it's gonna lose some of it's charm.

@@ineedahiro2712 Exactly, all the psychos are literally suppose to be stereotypes. Cliff was a Vietnam veteran that called you a communist, Sean was a religious zealot, and the family psychos that were in the entrance plaza were gun nuts hunting people, it's no harm to have a Chinese butcher. People want to look into shit too deeply and care too much. I like Capcom and they do a good job preserving their lineage but sometimes this sort of double standard slips through the cracks.

Until it was pointed out I never saw Larry as an offensive caricature but I still believe that capcom took the easy way out.

​@@FriendKevinProbably the first was Kuai Liang and the other was Bi-Han. The Cliff that first sees us is Bi-Han, who tries to kill us right ahead, while dying Cliff is Kuai Liang, showing compassion and PTSD of his family (or clan) death.
