I was using someone of fiverr to edit my episodes. It was working pretty well, but, they eventually got more gigs and better ratings so they raised their prices. I was originally paying $45 bucks per episode, but last time I used them they went to $95. I liked their work, but that was a bit too much. I started looking for another editor.

I definitely get that! You might want to try Upwork too. There's good, affordable editing out there for sure.

I know this is an older video, but I really, really loved hearing from Ronnie Burt, especially in light of his K-12 and academic teaching experience. So much of what you discussed reflects what I've experienced in K-12 education in the last 15 years as an elementary teacher in the U.S. The good news is that K-12 education *isn't* the same as it was when we went to school, or even when I was teaching 5-6 years ago. I remember flipped classrooms and MOOC's...and the supposed promise of them. I also remember how inequitable they were to students who didn't have the resources (like a quiet place to read, adequate reading comprehension ability, or reliable Internet) to do the flipped part at home. As you said, it's also very easy to create a crappy flipped instruction model, and it's much harder (though very possible) to create an excellent flipped classroom. The trained adult in the room matters so much for student engagement with the content! As an online course creator now (I left my teaching job 2 years ago), I also really appreciated the discussion of what AI can do for online course creation, and what it can't...and that the experience is where it's at. That's something I'm going to mull over a bit in relation to my current course offerings, and how I can make that experience better. Thank you so much for this interview!

That's exactly right! If you're uploading a video version to KZbin already, you don't need to connect your RSS feed in KZbin.

You compared a $99 microphone to a $399 microphone... Its really hard to take this video serious when you don't compare it to microphones in a similar cost range. Of course you wont recommend it versus a high end unit. That would be like comparing an Escort to a Mustang... You also don't compare them equally. You plug the blue yeti in, and adjust the knobs and that's it. You have your $400 microphone levels adjusted and set up for you. This comes off very disingenuous and elitist.

Hey! Thanks so much for the kind words. I haven't tried this myself but I suspect you'd need to use a separate service like Senja or Bonjoro, and either add their embeddable wall via HTML or upload the videos separately and embed them (if I understand the question).

Dude, MacWhisper? Lighttttttt years ahead. Built around the i- user like me. Everything under your fingers, and it assumes its fallacies. So, where segmenting text needs your final touch, it just lets you do that at the most convenient fashion not giving you the run around to get sh- done. Descript needs to go where it belongs, to a paper bin of ideas bounced off of each other in a boring over-sized corporate creativity room.

If you start a podcast with the intent to get money from it, and not for your own joy, you shouldn't start a podcast.

I think the Blue Yeti isn’t a bad mic, but some tips for using it include getting a wind screen or pop filter, and addressing it at a bit of an angle as opposed to speaking right at it. Doing this will help with it’s very sensitive gain, and will also help with plosives, making your recording sound better.
@JoeCasa5 ай бұрын
Agreed. There are definitely some good uses for it. But like I said in the review - if you're buying one now, there are better mics for podcasters at the same price point. A pop filter is a must if you're sticking with it though - great call out.
@timyonce5 ай бұрын
I would absolutely stay away from Blue yeti microphones or logi as they are called today. They simply don't support the microphones they are not repairable by Logitech. So if you want something that holds up I would go with another brand like Shure, Rode, or Mackie. Go with a company that repairs their own microphones.
