A good effort I suppose, but, I thought this film was mediocre at best. I think it might have got just a single chuckle out of me, and or a comedy, that's underwhelming. Of course, comedy is very subjective. The most appealing part of the film to me, was the gorgeous Alexandra Shipp. Due to my OCD, I made a custom sleeve, removing the ugly 'digital code' banners from front and back, and also correcting the listing of the wrongly stated aspect ratio as 1.85:1 when it's in fact 2.39:1. It's highlighted on my channel if you care to see, and equally, if you don't. 🙂

Saw it in theaters three times absolutely loved it bought the 4K with some birthday money I had it is still one of my favorite movies so far this year haven’t watched the extended cut yet but good to know I re-watched the theatrical cut Saturday night on my 4K TV and loved it once again! Also, the movie looks amazing in 4K!!

Everyone knows physical 4K is being sabotaged, from flagship TV's spying, 4K players glitching and 4K disc no quality control. Why the need for triple layer disc, why not have a single layer 10" disc. I was ok with the big Laser Discs.

I have to disagree about the Rocky Balboa transfer. I got my set in today. I personally didn’t mind some of the taming down of the film grain. And as far as the hi def scenes at the end, I don’t think much was done with it. I remember interviews with Stallone when the film came out where he said they used the same cameras they used to film real fights for HBO so it would have that look of live broadcasts. But upon viewing the rest of the film and the fight scenes it was too jarring. So he ran the prints through processing to soften it up just a tad. I expected something drastic after watching this review, but honestly, besides better color and overall picture, I thought it looked as I always remembered it and I’ve owned every possible version of the film since it released on DVD that Tuesday at midnight back in March 2007.

Preview Cut is the movie , all other versions are secondary, Peckinpah preview version is a masterpiece.

Reavon is absolute GARBAGE! I had a brand new unit that kept throwing error codes and the replacement, which I had to wait 9 MONTHS FOR, didn't work either! The connections on the back were defective! I had to threaten legal action and was lied to multiple times, before getting a refund for the POS! I bought a Sony M800X2 and couldn't be happier!

I got some anime titles from them. They used soft subtitles, which unfortunately dont play well with the PS3 (my preferred player), but they were very up font with me and told me about the reasons. Very helpful

When I saw this film as a kid in the theater on opening day, I hated it. Most of us did. It was so bizarre. I think that experience has always kept me from ever watching it again. That said, they did a stellar job on that box set. I hope in the future they release a film I actually like in a nice set. I’d buy it right away.

Like you said in the video, I suspect Joffe was desperate for a money-maker since he hadn't produced a hit since the Killing Fields. The Mission was also considered a commercial disappointment.

I have the previous 30th anniversary 4K box set and that thing could prop a table up.😅

The film deserved a better script. Shot with the Thomson viper filmstream camera, while Super 35 was utilized for high speed underwater sequences.

I have a question for you,if you would be so kind as to give me your opinion. So I heard you say a few times that the old set had various audio issues.,but they obviously weren't something you originally picked up,so I purchased the original 4 film set,and I guess my question is two fold.first off did every single one of the original set suffer from these issues or was it just luck of the draw? In other words some did some didn't? And then how noticeable to you are the differences in the corrected set? Given that you missed them first time? I ask because I'm fairly happy with my ser on the whole,and while I do now notice some slight difference in loudness here and there,I'm not rushing to buy new set because I'm not sure how much of what I'm hearing are source limitations from original sound elements, or meaningful problems across the board.i remember originally people only said rocky 2 was affected and the so called mono track which was mislabelled on rocky 1 but not the 5.1? Thanks

Except the discs manufactured by WB, distributed by Gruv DON'T work in high end 4K players. 4 different brands of 4K players spanning 6 different models. And because m$ is inept at a simple pass through feature, don't know about Sony, there are those of us who do NOT use game consoles for watching movies in our home theater set-ups. I've yet to see this movie in its remastered form. 3, THREE different orders of this movie, THREE discs, don't work. And of course the ubiquitous contact is b.s. on WBs website will likely Garner ZERO remedies within the next 50 years, so yeah

Miami Vice was filmed in spherical 35mm with Panavison Panaflex cameras & lenses. Legendary budgets during 1984-89.

Every 4k disc produced will have some form of DNR applied that has been stated from all studios as its a major part of the restoration process some go overboard as we know.

I want all these rambo films in 4k steelbook using the original poster artwork. let's face it these steelbook art are just tacky and awful fo4r these rambo films The blu ray first blood steelbook did that original poster look and it was fantastic but then we get the best quality 4k for them bet we get the crap artwork. Nice limited edition box set art work but comes with the bad steelbook art

It bombed big time in cinemas. Theatrical cut was critised and was not good way to watch it and reason they brought out Directors extended cut.

This deluxe set is truly amazing and I'm so glad to have it in my collection.
