The 7.62x54r shows just how nasty that round is with that impact shown. I dont think anyone wearing body armor could survive that kinda impact.

People are telling me to avoid anything that isn't strictly NIJ-certified. Do you have a response to that?

Hi Scott, There's a lot of really sketchy products and even sketchier marketing out there for armor, and the NIJ certification can provide folks some peace of mind. As a general rule of thumb, sticking to NIJ certified armor can make sense for some people, and we aren't going to attempt to dissuade anyone from doing what makes them feel safest. We just encourage that folks do their due diligence either way and check the NIJ list itself for the specific model you're looking at buying, since some companies imply their models are NIJ certified when they are not. NIJ certification isn't possible for us right now, and so we do our best to be transparent with our testing as a substitute for those who are comfortable with that. Hope that helps!

Would this stop M855A1?
@redstardefense86362 жыл бұрын
We haven't tested it against that yet, so we can't say for certain right now, but we hope to be able to do that test sometime soon.

That second hit is clearly deeper than the first but somehow came back as less (22.whatever mm vs 26.whatever) on the calipers. You need to get the armor tested by an independent lab. That doesn't mean going to the NIJ specifically, just someone without a financial incentive for the plates to pass the test.

Yes! That is something we are planning to do in 2022. We've mentioned it on social media a couple of times and will keep you updated.
