I wouldn't of sent that card in. An A/B winner card is rare. The cards Topps sent you are more valuable than the cards on the redemption card.

This seems so hard to believe after 30 years expired promo still works? The reason I say this: It's a far fetched idea and remember people will do anything to get more subs & likes, I did click on like but, remember the old saying: If it seems to good to be true, then it is exactly that? I will not be sending in my old redemption to Topps for 2 reasons: 1). If they send you back 1 auto and this guy got 2 autos and a relic, plus 2 packs of free cards. Have you ever wondered that card sent in to Topps was probably worth at least 20 times more than what Topps sent back? They are not going to lose and waste thier time by sending you back cards that are worth that much? 2). The Topps company was looking for this card because it was a rare card with higher end value than what the marketed was listed as, plus Topps was wanting that card back in thier hands to keep collectors from profiting from the card, think about that? I don't doubt this instance but, just making facts aware because some will get burned. I want you to imagine the card he sent in was may-be worth $ 2,900.00 dollars, Topps sends him back 2 autos, a relic and 2 packs of cards even though the redemption expired 30 years ago. I would say they sent him back about $ 100.00 dollars value of cards which much more than 35 dollars but, do you really believe Topps lost $ 65.00 dollars in this transaction? You have to realize real collectors like myself put in lots of $$$ into Topps from buying thier products which are still higher priced? I'm 63 years old and been doing this since I was 6 years old, I have older T206 Tobacco cards, cards by Topps from the early 1900's and newer cards from 2024 and all in between them years. The only thing I'm saying is don't beleive everything? There is a catch to everything, I dont know what it was but, something is not being told? The Topps company gave him a great replacement: 2 autos, a relic and 2 packs of cards.

this sucks over my life ive thrown away hundereds if not thousands of redemption cards. For all my autism this is one thing I've never thought of until seeing this video

I got that exact reception card when I was a kid I sent it in had the AB set in a binder.

This is so awesome. I sent an email to topps before even sending them these redemptions. The representative sent an email back that said sorry there is nothing we can do for you. After seeing this I will send them to them and see what they send me.

I opened a factory sealed set that included 10 black/gold cards and one was the unredeemed A/B/C/D group card. Auctioned on eBay for $265.

Nice. Great decision, plus, resale value on those in total probably close to $20 bucks so you definitely made the better choice money wise.

I'm pretty sure I have one or two of those in my collection. I live in Japan so I'll have to get my parents to check my collection back home in Canada.

In my opinion, a "Yes," or "No," to this question, though highly subjective, comes down to two things: 1. Personal Collection 2. Investment(i.e. resale, flipping, Return on Investment). 1.Personal Collection(PC): I am not going to spend more than a few seconds on this one as the answer is not only "No," but "HELL NO!" You are paying $149.00 or $199.00 simply to get your card encapsulated(slabbed), when you could simply purchase One Touches and be just as protected, not to mention PSA slabs are ugly, in my opinion. Plus, there are companies like SGC,TAG, CGC and even GMA, each of which, have slabs far more aesthetically appealing, than that God-ugly red-bordered, white label from PSA, who in my opinion knows that label is ugly and does nothing for the card, which is suppose to be it's purpose. I believe PSA will eventually change their label, knowing that alone will get people to want their already PSA slabbed cards re-slabbed into their new slabs, but PSA will "milk" as much money as they can, while paying at least 20 popular KZbin content creators to speak in favor of them! Again, this is my opinion, but as a business man, it's good business to change here and there. 2. Investment(i.e. resale, flipping, Return on Investment): Unfortunately, with everything I stated above, at this current moment, PSA is indeed the "big boy on the block, the big dog on the porch, the woman of the house," especially if you are grading at least 30 cards annually, as their slabs garners the most attention, love and return on investment. So, if "that's" what you're in the hobby for, which is to make a quick buck, then PSA is absolutely the way to go...at least for now, because word on the street is Fanatics, CGC and other grading companies are about to make some major moves, which PSA's parent company knew, that's why Collectors, decided to immediately acquire SGC. So, if you are in it for the quick flip, then PSA is the way to go, but don't put all your eggs in one basket, diversify your portfolio, because you never know whose coming around the corner
