The Central Railroad of New Jersey T-38 is not extinct. One of the locomotives is located in Minersville, Pa. It is fired up and run at least once a year.

@@timmcnally1552 But 113 isn’t a Camelback locomotive, like the T-38 Class was. 113 is an 0-6-0 switcher with the cab in the normal position at the rear of the boiler.

@@trainmaster844 That's quite interesting. I have yet to ride on one of the Steamtown excursions, though I've been there once or twice, and also do volunteer transcription work for the park (i.e. typing up archival documents into Word format). Here's the actual case between 5629 and 5632: In the case of 5629, it was actually Jensen to blame, and as you said, some groups (particularly) the IRM, offered to purchase the locomotive for $15,000 from Jensen, THEY made the offer TO him. And he said NO. Metra did the same, but as the locomotive was Jensens, Metra wasn't allowed to claim ownership of Jensens property, and finally the court ordered them to scrap it. As for 5632, apparently it and CB&Q 4963 were involved in an illegal sale from C&WI, and 5632 was scrapped (again, illegally) and Jensen was absolutely pissed off and sued both the scrap company and C&WI for it
