Hi Alex, I am not sure if you remember me but i am an old student of yours, thanks to you I am now working in my field (I did a diploma of IT networking) thanks to you and the other lectures. It gave me a path when it didnt seem like there was any path for me to take. I would just like to show my appreciation.

That's how we distributed large files in the computer lab, each student computer uploaded the bits it had to other PCs that needed it, hence bit-torrent. It works well when many computers need to download virtual machines which are pretty big. When compared to just downloading from a file server this method worked much better.
