I'm here because I came across a clip I recorded off National Publis Radio (NPR) years ago, about NYC's singing garbageman. I was shocked to discover it was from 2004 (was it really that long ago!) Wow. I found the clip amusing, probably why I recorded it in the first place. Seeing that he has since passed on made me a little sad.

Italian people. They always talk talk talk talk, no listening, talking about what they don't do, they can't be, what they ate yesterday, what they wear today, who they're gonna fuck or fool...and in the end you realize they didn't talk about nothing at all' cause actually they just aren't now the same people who talked about all that shit...we talk and do nothing. Sometimes we should open our mouths only for eating, that's what we can really do the best. And this is why my country is ruined and we are the clowns of Europe. Forgive us, Mike. This live version has a much sadder tone than the album version (probably cause of the absence of the drums), and I like it much more because of that.
