Description Box: For so long I felt like I didn’t enjoy my life because of my disability. As I’m gotten older, I’m starting to realize just how much my disability has given me. A few months ago, I was in bed, depressed and thinking “why me?”, “this isn’t fair”. “I wouldn’t feel this way if I was just born normal”. Then one night something clicked, I was thinking about all the things the drs told my parents when I was born…”she’ll never walk, sit up, or doing anything on her own” NOW LOOK AT ME! I thought about all the drs appointments, surgeries, therapies, casts, braces, etc, that I had to deal with since I was just born up until just a few years ago. Now I don’t think about how much my disability has taken from me, but how much it’s given me. It takes an incredible amount of determination, dedication, and resilience to go through the things I’ve gone through… THATS WHAT HAS GIVEN ME CONFIDENCE. So I hope next time you feel sad or defeated about your disability, you will stop and think about it from a different perspective. (Ofc having a disability is hard, and this is much easier said than done. There are days I still struggle with those thoughts… however, I still hope this can help someone🤍!
