The presentation NAILED IT. We want to see the faces of Nakamura Tome!!!! You can see the passion imprinted on his face. Compared to all modern advertisement videos, which are covered with generic music and faceless ai talking, THIS reminds us how proper advertising is made. Even if this is the first time hearing your company, your video sold me your product from first second. Congrats!!!!

that setup 2:10 is mental. 4 live tools + 4 static tools per turret position is madness! HTF do you program for that kind of setup?!?

About 10 years ago the place where I worked had a Hardinge dual spindle live tooled lathe with no Y axis and it always took about half a day to set up a job. I'm not saying we were good at it, but the guy was at least present and doing stuff all the while. 10 minute setup time seems like a very bold claim, let's see that happen on video, please! Even if it takes 30 minutes, I'd still be impressed. We're probably a couple years away from being able to buy one of these for our small shop, but I love seeing these machines.

Have you added the ability to override control sub spindle and milling spindle rpm with a knob? I am disappointed my older as200L cannot override these speeds at the control. Overall great machine. I would not hesitate to buy another Wonderful to hear it is seeing some upgrades

Machining a machine tool spindle - "In any system of energy, Control is what consumes energy the most. No energy store holds enough energy to extract an amount of energy equal to the total energy it stores. No system of energy can deliver sum useful energy in excess of the total energy put into constructing it. This universal truth applies to all systems. Energy, like time, flows from past to future" (2017).

Very good video! Is the NTRX-300L also available with a single turret station?
@madmat9903 ай бұрын
Thanks for the video. Is the material prehardened? It looks like it's ready to use and doesn't require a final grinding step...
@user-tc2ky6fg2o3 ай бұрын
It depends. If this spindle goes into a low-accuracy machine, like a manual lathe, it can be turned ready. But I assume this particular part is just a "raw" spindle, and yes, it will be ground. Any precision bearing that is used in CNC machines needs very tight tolerances and roundness. Moreover, the steady rest can not provide such a runout (or concentricity between the two sides), that will be suitable for a new machine, that will make maybe other spindles... On a grinding machine, you can grind all surfaces in one setup, achieving the best runout for the whole shaft. I don't think the spindle needs to be hardened, just to make of some more alloyed steel. In the video it is not hardened, otherwise, you can't use a tap to make threads. The bearing seats and chuck nose can be hardened later selectively by induction or laser hardening for better wear resistance if necessary.

You finish all the critical dimensions in the single lathe op? Or does it go on to other machines to finish all the critical fits? Great to see all the processes. So neat. Just got a pile of live tools for my AS200L and it’s been a blast learning!

Thank you very much for your comment! Nakamura-Tome's machines are Multitasking Machines, so they can process everything from raw material to finished product on ONE machine. They can also perform machining like gear cutting, milling, machining flat surfaces, and creating polygons from round bar materials. If you have any questions about machining, please feel free to contact us anytime via our website. Contact us⇒www.nakamura-tome.com/contact_product/

Thank you for your comment! I checked with the video creator, and it doesn't seem to be a machining scene where coolant is being used. It appears to be shining due to light reflection. That’s a common thing when filming metal materials!! XD

About capto tools, what will happen if chips will stuck inside bolt head socket? Robot will send error message or tool wont be tighten properly? This looks cool, but what about actual performance? :)
@nakamuratome_global4 ай бұрын
Thank you very much for your question! Since this is a demo, the process of cleaning chips with air before tool change is omitted, but there is no problem with automatic tool change. We also manage torque and can confirm the tightening. When dealing with small chips, it may be difficult to notice them, which is why we measure with an automatic tool setter after the tool change. If the measured value exceeds a certain threshold, the operation will be stopped. We can make proposals tailored to the customer's needs.
