In the 1980s heavy metal car parks were filled with young white people. Now those young white people are mostly in their 50s, and almost all the younger heavy metal fans are Hispanic. Is that a reflection of the changing racial demographics of California or is that a sign of the demographics keeping heavy metal alive in the USA? I live in Europe so ask out of curiosity.

Irvine meadows was built when I was 13 years old, First concert was Tom Petty, grew up in El Toro 20 minutes away and this became OUR STOMPING grounds ! snuck in through the Lion Country Safari Park so many times, got chased by a Rhino ! so Many great shows, Ozzy, Judas Priest, Boston, Heart, Jimmy Buffett, Grateful Dead , Bon Jovi, Queensrych, Scorpions, and so many more. They tore it down to build condos and parking lots :(

did any of you metalheads out there know that there's a original band called iron maiden from england 1960s(69 first album came out), and bruce from the 80s iron maiden copycat the music style from that iron maiden of the 60s, no kidding i have the album and only album, both singers were born in the same city in the uk,......marius(punk rules)

this is my favorite album by the Maidens (up the Irons dude), I'm a punk rocker even in my mid-50s, but I love metal music too, I got into punk in 79, late 79, and metal in the 1980s, early 83,..........even with my punk outfit i still wear def leppard shirts, I'm British/Romanian, not american,...p,s, i also made a tribute vest of CLIFF BURTON from metallica, it has a big master of puppets patch on back with cliff items and all the albums he was in, i made it in 80s style,..............marius(punk rules).

Yeah lol When I was in LA in the late 80s the biggest show I went to was corrosion of conformity/suicidal tendencies at the 'palladium I think it was....they didn't do hardcore shows after that one lol Bunch of white guys and chicanos dog-piling, stagediving and flying around on each other. It was California's greatest show lolol Alot of the people from that old scene are playing in death metal bands now.
