I’m usually not into sports, but when I found out Egypt is participating in the triathlon that is held right under my home, I knew I had to spectate. It is a shame we are not allowed to spectate the swim from the beach though. I was looking for basmala but she disappeared at the running stage. She did her best. Alisa Housková I have finished my master last august. i and my master friends started our journey by living in the dorm. however, most of us move out to off-campus rooms by the second semester. i and some of my friends preferred to rent our own rooms, and others felt comfortable sharing an apartment with a roommate. the dorm is a nice and cheap place to live in at first. but there will be minor issues, like curfew policy, privacy, ... etc. the dorms offer 2, 3, and 4 persons per room options. they are very strict in korea. so, no boys and girls! they are either in separate buildings, or in separate floors of a building in crowded seasons. The competition for dorms is very high. if you are planning to live in the dorm, you better apply asap

Alisa Housková First, you will need a korean speaking friend. almost every korean (over 30 years old) off-campus won't be speaking english. so, i would recommend u to find a friend when you arrive and ask him/her to help you find the apartment. you may also ask SKKU international office for help. you either should go to residential areas and look for a rental place by directly, or go to one of the many real estate offices right in front of the campus. beware that the owner usually asks for a relatively high initial insurance deposit. they will hold on to it during your stay and return it back to you when you leave. they also usually prefer 2-year contracts, though you may argue with him/her to reduce it, but not less than 1 year. for a small room with kitchen/bathroom, the deposit can vary from $2,000 to $5,000 with a monthly rental fee of $200 to $400 roughly. for an apartment, initial deposit vary from $4,000 to $10,000 with monthly rental of $400 to $800. apart from the rent, you will be paying for the electricity, gas, phone, and internet (in korea, you get 100Mbps connections!!!) if you want one (some rooms provide the net free of charge). most of the time, the apartment will be empty. the room will have a refrigerator, a washing machine, a closet and perhaps a bed. there are occasionally better offers, but hard to find. a friend of mine was able to get a 3-room apartment with an offer that is similar to a typical room offer. Also, notice that whenever you change your address, you must notify the immigration office within 2 weeks. otherwise they will charge you for like $300 for every month of delay. i found out about this the hard way!
