Sending parts overseas from the UK is always a pain in the a***! Like everywhere else, cost depends on the size of the box, weight etc. and that cost goes up dramatically the bigger the box gets. Not a problem so long as the buyer knows and is willing to cover those costs. Sounds more like the guy couldn't be bothered with the hassle. (So why bother advertising the part in the first place?🤷♂)

Thank you. I did some research... as of now... there are only 55 1000f's registered in New Zealand at this time. They are going to be a collectors item soon.
@nzbeeker13 ай бұрын
So, it turns out there are 55 Honda CBR1000F motorcycles currently registered in New Zealand as of 2024. That’s a pretty small number considering how many were produced back in the day, especially for models made between 1993 and 1999. When I picked the bike up from Display Associates, there was a woman there who said she was about to turn 80. She said that this bike, being restored back to as close as possible to the original is going to be worth a fortune. I'm doing this to keep though, not to on-sell.

Thank you, this bike is 3 years away from being a classic. I am getting older... just 2962 days way from retirement... I need to choose a bike as a keeper. There was an lady at Display associates who said she is almost 80 years old and that this bike will be worth a fortune. If done right, I kinda agree... if done wrong, it will be worthless.

Note to the last commenter about locating mirrors in New Zealand... For finding a right-hand mirror for your 1997 Honda CBR1000F in New Zealand, here are a few motorcycle wreckers that may be able to help: GP Motorcycle Wreckers in Katikati specializes in parts for Honda and other major brands. They regularly dismantle road bikes and stock parts for older models, so they might have what you need. You can contact them via email at [email protected] or visit their website for more details at GP Motorcycle Wreckers([email protected] )(www.gpmotorcyclewreckers.co.nz/ GP Motorcycle Wreckers ). Bike Busters Motorcycle Wreckers near Hamilton is another good option. They ship parts nationwide and have a large selection of parts for Japanese motorcycles, including Honda. For inquiries, call them at 07 824 9585 or check out their website at Bike Busters(www.bikebusters.co.nz/ GP Motorcycle Wreckers ). Bike Bitz in Whanganui also provides a wide range of parts for Honda motorcycles and can ship across New Zealand. You can reach them at 0274 279 084 or visit their shop online at Bike Bitz(www.bikebitz.co.nz Bike Bitz ). It’s a good idea to contact them directly to confirm availability and specifics for your model.

Thank you Volgnit, I spoke to the person doing the painting... he said that he has the fairing almost at primer stage, and will be finished painted in two weeks. Then I have to reassemble it and put the fairing back on, then get it in to Display Associates for the decals. Still some work to come yet.

Getting there slowly but surely. Do you have a tri pod you could use for those close up shots? The seat release looks quite complicated for what it has to do, don't you think?
@nzbeeker19 ай бұрын
Hey there, yes I do have a tripod. I will have to set it up and use it... it can be quite hard to hold the camera and do stuff with only one hand. Yes, it is quite complicated for what it is supposed to do. But I am putting things back to factory and trying to get it as close to original as I can.
