Thank U, River! Is this one of your River tars? I thought these were made from oak, but it looks like a different wood here. What is the height of the River tars? I read they have a larger depth. Is that to get more volume or more low frequencies or both? Thanks.

Why does it take so many drum and players to do what an Indian tabla player can do in their sleep?

Damn at 1:10 that polyrythm with the food jingles is insane. His timing is perfect, so good it almost sounds off but if you listen it's completely consistent. He's a master.

If you ever get a chance to do a workshop with him, do it! He gets everyone doing these crazy polyrhythms with different body parts.

That instrument is called a dotar.
@rimaluna42892 жыл бұрын
Hey, I work with Asheville Rhythm and River is my drum teacher. The guy with long hair is Chris Rosser playing a dotar.
@M0gley11112 жыл бұрын
@@MiziB I looked and looked and found that the one he’s playing is actually called sarod. So similar to the dotar but a little different
@MiziB2 жыл бұрын
@@M0gley1111 A sarod is usually a little larger than a dotar and has a wider neck and more courses of strings; but a dotar can be considered a type of simple sarod. I know that Chris Rosser calls his instrument (the one in this video) a dotar. He plays lots of other instruments as well.
