when you don't want the indian ink to lose its texture it is maybe an idea to mix it up with an mat acrylic glaze before you ad it on ??

These look really cool. You can get this effect with any watercolour paint though. Just mix a granulating pigment with a non-granulating pigment, then watch them separate on the page. It's really fun experimenting, you may be able to get these exact effects with colours you already own.

I just discovered these videos, and the artwork is impressive. Is it difficult to reproduce the finished product as a print? How does the gold leaf maintain its luster in a print?

What kind of board is your watercolor paper taped to? Looks a step up from my cardboard I cut from boxes.

I really enjoy watching people showing what Lebenzon brushes are capable of--this video is especially good. From watching this I'm sure I made the right move in ordering one of Tracy's brushes. I ordered a med. goat/synth. w/ bamboo handle--just got shipping confirmation email yesterday, should be here sometime next week. Woohoo--I can hardly wait!
