nice video. my grandfather had the same car in 1958, do you have the original horns on it ? can u blow the horn in your next video ?

While you have your tires off, do any major clutch repairs. The right tire will have to be moved to get the pulley off.

The angle of the tractor is called the draft angle. I have 9.5” X 42” tires on my B . It’s the same height as yours is. The aspect height of the tire is less than your current tire. I don’t know if you can get 12.4” X 42” tires. They might be taller. On the west coast. The 9.4 X 42’s are called Strawberry tires.

364 V8 and a Dyna flow automatic. The dyna flow is sluggish off the line but a good transmission overall. Nice ‘58 Buick. You don’t see these anymore.

They built these in France in the late 50s early 60s. They were called 892. The 8 denotes French manufacturing. 7 was added when built in Scotland. My friend has an 892. They are very rare in the uk. Sold here while the factory changed from 780 to 400, 500. Everyone who uses the 892 really likes it.

the rather problematic Mack 9 speed box........front sections are fine, its the rear range change section that gives the trouble, once the multi pack clutches start to wear, they make pretty horrible noises when shifting hi/lo range. She idles nice, the injector pump is in decent shape.......when they "roll" at idle, you know they are getting old and need work.

My all time favorite truck. If they came with twin stacks it had a 500hp V8 and if it was single stack it had a 350hp straight 6. Company my father drove for custom ordered 2 roll off trucks in 89. They have a plaque on the passenger side of the dash that says CUSTOM BUILT FOR BERKSHIRE CLEANWAY, DALTON MA. The driver's asked to have them single stack but with the E9 500. So people thought they had 350's in them until they took off. Haha you can get good power out of those E9's. 👍👍

Basically the corn belt dealers usually didn't order the external pre cleaner and the plains dealers almost never ordered a tractor without it. Some 4430's don't have the external. You put your step on upside down. If you feel you must put the narrow batteries back on, at least put 2 12 volts on and run 2 pos cables to the starter. You could probably get by with just one 12 volt on the left side. We just run 1 group 31 battery about where yours are located. If you put the new style stair steps on, the battery box on the side doesn't look so out of place. A lot of the hyd pump clatter is from worn plastic bushings inside the drive clamp below the radiator.

Is it a Mack motor or a Cat 3408... The Mack motor is epic sounding. Love it. They are Fantastic trucks that sound as great as they look. Scrappy Insudstries got one and cleaned it all up inside and out and haul all their heavy equipment with it. Love to see you do a series on this truck for sure. An all around great feature to have on a youtube channel. Those Mack motors are low frequency Earth Quakers lol
