I started watching this and sought out the topic b/c I'm wondering what's the quality of education one gets from a UC University vs. a Cal State given the strict admissions and inflated cost? You assume a BA in any Humanities discipline these days from either system is still a fast track as a Starbucks Barista?

Excellent video! I am on path to become a transfer student at Cal State San Bernardino, a school I've had my eye on for years. Since I am going into Computer Science, CSU San Bernardino has a great computer engineering program alongside Cal State Long Beach, San Jose State, and the Poly's. Compared to every other state in the US, I personally think California has the best state-wide public school system in the nation, since they make it extremely affordable and also accessible in big cities to small towns, like where I'm from.

Great video, would be nice to know if there is a way to get these stats but for graduate school admissions?

UC system develops leaders and scholars with a theory-based education, and CSU system develops employees, but it also depends on what you do when you get out. In short, it depends on what your goals are. Employers really love to see UC on your resumé, because they know it’s more intense and selective, but excellent accountants, engineers, social workers, teachers, and computer science professionals come out of the CSU system. For instance, I know a great engineer who went to San Jose State, and he had a quality internship for NASA. He ended-up working for a robotics manufacturer… Whatever you do, plan your educational and career path, and don’t hesitate going to a two year community college.

I graduated from Cal Poly SLO back in the early 1980’s with a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Although the professors in the Architecture and Engineering departments were top notch, I had some instructors in General Ed courses who were not very good. Before transferring into Cal Poly, I went to Pasadena City College, which back then, was the second best rated community college in the state. Many of the instructors I had for General Ed courses and others like math and science courses, were far superior to those at Cal Poly. Fortunately, I had completed the majority of my General Ed courses at Pasadena City College. PCC also had a good architecture department, so when applying to transfer to Cal Poly SLO school of Architecture, I did not have to submit a portfolio of my work like those from other community colleges due to the architecture program at Cal Poly being impacted at that time. I think to this day, the program is still impacted and it is difficult to get accepted to the program.

hi idk if you'll response but I need advice. So I live in Indoensia now I'm graduating from high school next year and I really really wanna get into a college in LA majoring in dance. And I eventually wanna work and live in LA. But I'm still lost whether I wanna go to CC or one of the cal state. Bcs money is the problem here. So which one is cheaper and has at least ok quality? + more international students friendly (dorms, acceptance rate,etc)

Any indigenous CSU students get free schooling. Your tribe doesn’t need to be located in California. However, you will need to be a citizen of a federally recognized tribe. Just want to let you all know if you didn’t already. Happy schooling and I hope you all do great!

we have ramen nagi in PH too. one time during our payday, I decided to dine out but all of my go-to restaurants and fast foods are full. I walked by Ramen Nagi and found vacant seats. I was seated by a waitress and asked to choose my ramen type. Without checking the price, I ordered my ramen. Once I asked for a receipt, it was 495PhP (it was not cheap in PH standards). The ramen was really good but never again 😂

Public universities are doing more for a country than these country club exclusive "prestigious" schools. Selection is opaque and everybody knows that the majority of student in Ivy League are privileged and from hight socio economic class.

USC is a prestigious bad school. People go there think it’s prestigious. But everyone there is rejected by Stanford, Berkeley, UCLA and all the Ivy schools on the East coast.

Going by tiers to generalize is fine. Just know that some of the ivies specifically are better at certain disciplines. For example, Cornell is seen to be the best for STEM studies. If you're concerned about ranks for ivies specifically, look at the major and see how it stacks

Wow thats allot. The best rhing you can do is get there once it opens and do all the rides on upper loot. I do this every saturday. Hasn't failed me. You be done with every ride on the upper loot by 12 am.
