They had great measured sinad and thd and practically fit my needs. I needed scalability, balanced inputs and decent power (240watts). Others may not have AC power system and maybe this would be a pain in the butt to do.

There are hours of my install, but it keeps changing. Mini PC, soundcards just to start.
Right now, for this system, yes. I gave higher content to the 6 inch and liked it, so only a smaller high mid was needed. My mishap with the old 3inch became an opportunity for discovery. New bonuses are the snappier attack on this high mid, liking it. Also less for the tweeter to do, less distortion in it.

Yes. Did this a few times.. needs alot more testing. I have to not starve the other amps when testing the 10amp. To do this I'll turn off the 12-inch amps. Also ordered some gallium 10amp supplies fr9m AIYIMA, as costly as one more amp.. gosh!
@minus3dbintheteens60Ай бұрын
Yeah, there is no replacement for raw voltage (amplifier output voltage), thats why I use absolutely massive amps, I've got a Arc 2300SE @ 330wrms /ch probably my most exotic amp I just use for my tweeters, I was using a MRV-T757, bridged, per tweeter, MRV-1505s bridged for each 3" mid ('bout a thousand rms each) and another 2 1505s, each BTL for my woofers. You want amps with not only very, very high output voltage, but a distortion curve that lowers vs output power, like my 1505s, the more you turn it up, the sweeter it gets. There's no chefs kiss emoji

Bro, the moment the video started I cringed, those banana plugs you are using could easily touch each other and I would assume that even the outer casing is conductive as they very often are. If the pos and neg plugs touch then yeah, short and bang. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if this is what has happened. I really hope you do better with the next install. Just use the regular type plugs, not 90 degree, and install the wire into the plugs properly, not like idiots do where they put the wire in the side of the plug, put the wire in the back of the plug so the wire and plug are in a straight line. I am very sorry for your loss.

So why not just correct the near field response?
@sqcaraudioАй бұрын
Point taken. Still testing. The cabin gain is fighting with the near-field. At what frequency it starts is still a factor. I think below this transition, an MLP focused tuning kicks in.

If a song is mastered in 16bit will Apple render it bit perfect? And does this only apply for downsampled music? Apple has 24 bit masters too, do they play bit perfect?
@sqcaraudioАй бұрын
The 16-bit example is how I show the extra dither. If there is a 24-bit showing on a 16bit master, it's iOS extra dither. Another procedure called nulling does confirm that extra 24bit dither is added to 24bit tracks, i.e., they don't null. For that test, I used Qobuz as a reference. Only the iOS dither remained after null attempt.
@sqcaraudioАй бұрын
When is down-sampling? If you choose a lower lossless level you get shown less plus most hires releases will have a fall back 44.1 or 48kHz version. Fully mastered to lower.
@randomstuff3868Ай бұрын
@@sqcaraudio if the original master is 24bit but the track is 16bit dither is usually applied during the down sample to reduce harmonics but it raises the noise floor.
@randomstuff3868Ай бұрын
@@sqcaraudio for 24bit tracks yes, but for 16bit masters there is no need to apply dither it’s in the master if at all. So I was wondering if Apple Music plays 16bit bit-perfect. This is the majority of audio content on any platform.
@sqcaraudioАй бұрын
The quietest part of 16bit music with propper mastering is -120db. The added iOS 24bit dither is -130db, approximately. Plus, it's stereo, which makes possible stereo shifts in the low backgrounds of 20db down at -120db. It's bloody hard to notice in a blind test. But I could get it 66 percent of the time.
