I did this the same way last week after trying to figure it out on my own. It's not fun but it's a bit of independence. Glad to find this and see others are doing this too. I hope to keep being able to.

I suggest you use some gutter crutches to go from the back of your car to the drivers seat. It would be safer, especially in the wet. And yes walkers also do the trick But when your young ... they are kind of embarrassing and cumbersome. Have you thought of getting a family member or friend ... in the know ....to install a slide rail in your car with a hinged t shaped slide rail that pulls out & pivots down to attach & pick up your wheelchair . A small rope & pulley system to draw your chair up and in. And when getting your chair t of the car... simply pull the sliding rail to the pivot point and the small gas strut would stop it coming down with a thump. I currently load my wheelchair in the same sort of way as you But my wheelchair folds up like a brief case, and I am a bloke. To many big cooperations and governments today have over stepped the line , and are all about profit & control, have over complicated life, working against those of us with disabilities Much of the good old Christian charity has gone. One last idea ... sometimes some of the colleges & universities who like to tinker and like challenges . Would be a good group to approach to make this simple device without it costing alot of money. 🙂🙏

The app is wonderful...but something to think about...what if you use the 'app' to move your chair away...and something happens to where you can't get it back? Then what? What if you lock it via the 'app'...but then it won't unlock because the 'app' no longer works or the chair is in some kind of mode to where it doesn't understand? These are just questions to ponder technology. I think people think' how easy is this'...without considering everything. Good video though. I wasn't aware of most of the features you mentioned.

I think your video is a good one...but you seem to be dancing around the real issues that make up reasons 1 -5...you need to be a confident person.

This is how I been doing it exactly! People look me like crazy or run help me. I travel with cane, walker, and wheelchair. Look like I manhandling it but it work. My back gate No have button so I use car flag pole with stretch cord on back.

Good on you young lady! I went with my Brother, Chris, this morning, into Perth, Western Australia, and had a demonstration of a Smart Drive...... Wow! but bugger it.... as you get older you will need a different setup like me. I walk with Crutches and I can do the same thing going to the Car holding to the Car sliding all the way to the Driver Seat and this for you and me is a Dangerous maneuver but we have to do it while we have the Strength still on our body. Your a a brave strong girl. like I was in my Younger years nothing couldn't Stop me. But as you get old thing will Starting to change. Enjoy all you can now that you are young don't let no body Stop you and even if you get older as me that I'm 64 years old I don't let no body Stop me for what I'm love to do go out for a Drive and places God Bless Kate

Just finish speaking to a friend of mine who was suffering from Ataxia for years but after a recommendation of Madida herbal center’s treatment to him, all his symptoms and ataxia was reversed with him completely restored to he normal self.
