Don't go to Puebla Mexico if you are young somewhat good looking, if you are athletic and energetic and concerned about your gut health. I was sent there for 6 weeks and have inflamed bowels, especially the small intestine. I ate mostly natural foods 80% of the time, salads, fruits etc....but those were either laced with pathogens or my drinks, beverages were contaminated. My perfectly fine gut before going to Mexico became severely ill after. It even became paralyzed and wouldn't absorb water. Now 18 months later I'm down to only 135lbs at 6' height, I can barely walk and am extremely fatigued. Some days I feel like dying. I'm bedridden. It is hell. I don't know what to do. I lost my life. I am a living dead. 😢😖😔

Serious question: would the metatarsal pad not just make my arches "lazy" like custom made orthotics?
@DrHoulihan12 күн бұрын
@VT___ they would be positioned under the transverse arch, not medial longitudinal arch (the larger, more important one)
@VT___4 күн бұрын
@@DrHoulihan Thanks for your reply! That would not make them lazy? Also does the specific shape or material of the pad matter? I couldn't find one shaped like the pad that you're using and only ones filled with gel. I see many other people using either the pedag one or a similar shaped one.

How about a over the counter insole with a Met pad built in? Also I run ultra races up to 100 miles. My fear regarding toe spacers would be they may give me blisters between the toes. Perhaps wear the spaces over toe socks? Thoughts?
@DrHoulihanАй бұрын
@vagnsteen5130 Both good ideas. I don't run much, but I will put spacers over toe socks if I do it for any meaningful duration. And assuming the built in met pad is positioned appropriately for your foot that should work well

I'm pretty sure that my scoliosis was caused by me falling down an entire stair case at barely 3 years old, I hit my left eye on a step and got it cut, my parents later told me that they remembered that they could see through my eyelid and that they could hardly look at me, I passed out from pain and the blood and trauma while getting stitched up got me to forget about the whole event for a good portion of my life, not wanting to look back although I had vague memories and maybe that I also suffered a concussion. But it's like I was cut out from the pain in my body and I stayed tense in my muscles and tissues. I think that my pelvis probably got misplaced from the fall and that parts of my spine suffered pretty severe impacts, although I've had other falls later on in my life as a kid, but my body never adjusted, because I was completely shut off from pain and in this rigidity. They fixed the cut, but I wasn't given any X-rays or anything to see if I had anything broken or misplaced, I was just sent back home (I live in France and am in my 20s). The fact that I've never been asked if I had traumas in the past by any professional or specialist deeply questions me, the lack of research and studies, even statistical ones is very problematic. I've also realized that scoliosis is an industry and that some professions make a living out of chirurgical treatments or braces for exemple. I'm not saying that you're responsible of this, but I want to challenge you in what you think that you know about scoliosis, I'm aware that I might have my own bias and blindspots. But I still can't understand that we cannot explain medical causes of scoliosis or that we haven't found ways to treat it. I would have given all of my money away to the one person that could have got me to heal and trust me that is more money than any professional could ever make with their specific treatments from treating one person and there's many people like me in my situation, that would go as far as selling their houses to be freed from this burden. I don't even think that the traditional ways to address scoliosis or some cases at least create viable businesses because they're not scalable. What the industry does is keep people in misery and the only alternatives to surgery that doesn't fix the underlying issue, are all these money vampiric ways to cope with the condition. I kinda feel like scoliosis specialists are scams so I'm starting to accept the condition and I expect that if I am to heal from it, that it will come from myself and that I will have to figure out the causes on my own at this point. Because I just do not trust the multitude of doctors and specialists that I've seen, some of them openly lying to my face.
