Thank you for not contributing to toxic algae blooms in body of waters! Very informative video

Yes, composting the manure fosters the slow release of the nutrients. This allows the plants more efficiently utilize the nutrients and minimizes release into waterways.

How about moisture level of the pile? Add you water?
@percyblok60142 жыл бұрын
Outdoors composting relies upon rainforest moisture. No need to add anything. Microbes do the work and get the internal heat up.

The aerated static pile works well and can be scaled up. After running the trials shown in the video, we went to 5 bins, each with a capacity of 50 cubic yards (38 cubic meters). It is important to get the density and the moisture of the manure and bedding compost mix correct before it is placed in the bin. Periodic aeration with a small blower will determine how hot or cool the compost gets and keeps it from turning anaerobic.

Because some microbes need a constant supply of oxygen to break down compost

I guess that he is considering the size of the bin as a good chance for the air to penetrate. It works though, I've tried with even smaller bins. There are several advantages, You don'y need to turn and the temperature will not go overboard. I do it in old 1 ton Big Bags.

Before rain returns to Southern California we must work to minimize erosion. Bioswales slow rainwater down, allowing dry soil to soak it up. Watch the video to learn more about swales and their uses.

Nice explanation of your stormwater project with bioswales. Has the rain started in the project location yet? It would be nice to know how this system performs during the rainy season.
