I have made an extremely soft harness for my newly rescued, feral Kangle-Rott mix. However, she will not allow me to get near her with it. I am going to attempt the T-Touch and have an appointment with a physic too reach her. Thanks for the info.

Try Tilley Farm (www.tilleyfarmshop.com - you may have to ring to check availability if not on the website) or Xtradog.com.

my question is what is the purpose of this wrap?? i don't think u have briefed about it on the video?
@HeartDog5 жыл бұрын
The purpose is to raise awareness of their body and to provide comfort - assuming the animal is comfortable wearing it.

The bandage being used as a wrap isn't very wide so wouldn't it be better to use something at least twice as wide as the bandage. Also can we use this for cats as we have one very demanding cat who we think is very anxious from being taken from his Mother too early, being mistreated and abandoned plus we aren't always home so he whinges and hardly stops all the time. We are all about to move so I think he is going to be greatly affected by this. Thanks
@HeartDog6 жыл бұрын
Meme Smith it doesn’t need to be wide as it is for awareness. You use it briefly and watch the animal’s response. Wider might be too much for some animals. It is possible to use it with cats - a 2 inch one usually but I would work with body work first with your cat - and be aware that you can’t leave this on an unattended cat. Hope that helps.

I would LOVE to see you try this with my 5 month old lab, you'd have rope burn and 2 dislocated shoulders!
@HeartDog7 жыл бұрын
Well I've used it successfully with a lot of very pully dogs and many a lot bigger than a labrador puppy (I have an 11 month old Anatolian (52kg) at the moment and have had Maremma Sheepdogs (45kg+) for many years) - and I haven't had rope burn or dislocated shoulders yet. Certainly it is harder with very pully dogs but the secret is to move on the spot stroking until they calm down before trying to move forward. And if this isn't successful try the balance lead which you'll find videos for on the channel.

Excellent Janet. That is a simple concept but often over looked and sometimes difficult to grasp for the novice. Great video!!! Love the graphics.

Thought-provoking, and something to be aware of, but it's not really possible to avoid labels altogether. I think what we need to do - as the video says - is to watch our dogs as much as they watch us, and be wary of pre-judging anything that they happen to be doing. Be aware that in THIS particular moment, our dog is feeling or doing something different. So yes, a valid video. I just think that it generalises a bit, because many of us do this already.
