I Love Liverpool and had a nice 4 day mini holiday there. My dad was born there, and both my Grans. I agree, the people are friendly, and humorous. The only challenge was understanding some of them. On more than one occasion I thought they were speaking a language I didn't recognize. I asked directions in a Pub, and I literary did not understand one word of what the man spoke. The only other English speaking city that i have trouble understanding people is Belfast.

This sort of started off as a good-natured piss-take but immediately turned into whole-hearted support for the old chap who started it all. Lots of people, especially southerners, believe that scousers are all scallywags, nothing could be further from the truth. Hats off to the most warm-hearted people in Britain, always up for a good laugh and with an ability to turn a crisis into a comedy show. For me this is pure gold.
