I have never been to a place that uses incense except the Catholic Church. I was raised Jewish & I have converted to Christianity but hold true to my Jewish roots. I belong to a small church & I feel the presence of the Holy Spirit when I focus on messages from scripture. I feel that you may be making some large generalizations about worship in the Christian faith. Yes there are some churches that are too “Hollywood” & it becomes a concert, however there are many churches that are not that way. It’s an individuals responsibility to check yourself & be humbled by the presence of Holy Spirit.

I beg to differ in reference to Jewish liturgical worship, many of the prayers have the Tehillim/ Psalms and proverbs in it. There is a Jewish concept called Kavanah which means intense focus. I have experience beautiful worship to Elohim praying through the prayer book, of course, it could get dry but I think it’s because of my lack of humility. Thank You for explaining the different types of worship. Ávodah means work which is a form of worship when done unto Elohim like the Levitical priesthood. I totally agree with Davidic type of worship ; I have experience that in Intense worshiping in dance. I have been in the Messianic part of the body for 30 plus years. I have seen & experienced pure worship. It’s sad you are painting a broad brush across the whole part of the Messianic part of the body.
