Tried it out and my sinuses didn't feel irritated in the morning. Also, I think less water might be better so it heats up more... the back pressure when I was breathing out popped the silicon cover off the top ... but I pulled it down a little more and added a rubber band, which seemed to fix the issue. Worked pretty well for me.... also i want to add that the cheaper cup warmers are probably better since they dont have the auto shut off timer.

The fastest way to burn it is to buy a large enough rocket and not let it takeoff. I don't understand this desire to burn stumps...so many other options that aren't wasteful.

@AndrewaMcMahon Жыл бұрын
Yeah probably... instead of a leaf blower I've been using fans recently that way I can walk away and come back a couple hours later when the stump is burnt up.... with big stumps I might need to reposition the burner and fans for a different angle.
@dlighted8861 Жыл бұрын
At that point couldn't you turn off the torch and just use the blower?
@AndrewaMcMahon Жыл бұрын
Possibly... that might be a good idea... in more recent stumps I've used box fans rather than a blower... so long as i set things up safely I can walk away from it and do other yard work... Then come back a few hours later and the stump is mostly gone... perhaps I'll try getting it going, turn off the burner, then just use the box fans to keep it hot.

my neighbor told me that in old time they would just use Ammonium nitrate. are you faster than that?
@AndrewaMcMahon Жыл бұрын
Yes, because it would take me longer to find any ammonium nitrate.
@AndrewaMcMahon Жыл бұрын
Well this method certainly isn't faster than using explosives... but in the description of the video, I did not say it was the fastest way to blow up a stump. It's also true that a big expensive stump grinder would be faster as well... but this burner is what I had on hand.

@@cmleoj My thoughtful critique is in agreement with most of the others. Burning stumps, is a waste of time, energy and resources. It's unnecessary and therefore... stupid... stupid... stupid.
@cmleoj Жыл бұрын
@@barrygorrell1648 Hi Mr Gorrell, I read your response and I see how it’s a valid point, from a singular perspective. What about situations where you have a time frame requiring you to remove the stump? For example, I am starting to put up a workshop and there are numerous stumps. I could wait out the stumps, since they will eventually rot. But I’m pressed for time, so I’m looking for alternatives to hiring someone to charge me $100/stump. Is it still “stupid” to burn out the stump? Your perspective is your own, but I can see there are times you need to git ‘er done! 🔥 Have a good day.

Burning stumps is unnecessary to begin with. Just drill some holes in it and dump some stump-rot on top. In a few months it'll be gone. If you can't wait that long, dig around it, cut the main roots with an old chainsaw, and pull it out with your big manly truck.

Lol...Yeah I understand that sentiment, I made the burner using some pipe from the hardware store... if you have a drill press it isn't too hard to make. The whole process probably costs about $20 in propane to burn a stump, after cross hatching the stump with a chainsaw. I also reccomend using box fans rather than a leaf blower... so it can be left to work on its own.

Better to just light a charcoal fire on top of it and leave it alone.
@brianlanders53062 жыл бұрын
I was thinking of a burn barrel on top of the stump, to make all of the charcoal a person would ever need, for water purification, air filtration, and in case of a nuclear attack, charcoal will keep you from getting radiation poisoning, by lining everything with it, before the day it happens. Just a thought.
@Technoanima2 жыл бұрын
You'll need to cover the charcoal with a barrel and put a lid on it, this helps the heat build up until it creates its own up draft.

All due respect Firehawk, in my 72 years, I have seen numerous leaky "safety" valves and fittings and once have had a fire at the tank because of a faulty gauge. That's why we don't have open flames or smoke close to tanks while in use.
