When I was watching this video that the other dude told you twice You cannot have any of his food that he was cooking up. I’m building a rack to hold 2 PA14s. Someone mentioned in the comments that PVC/ABS tubes were not recommended by Hobie. I went to the website and downloaded the latest manual and sure enough, they were right. When I looked at my original paper manual it didn’t mention not using pvc, the whole reason I’ve been using them all this time. The strange thing is that Hobie sells their distributors a short mounting rack made out of metal that is basically the same thing. They use it to to fit a person 250lbs and less into the kayak and it doesn’t do any damage. I think they’re just trying to sell their overpriced saddles. I’m in Redding, CA where it hits 115 regularly in the summer. I’ve never had a problem with the black ABS plastic warping my boats (3). The problem seems to be when someone uses a ratchet strap or over tightens the NRS straps trying to hold the front and back of the boat down. Add heat and you will start to destroy the boat especially after a prolonged period. Front and rear straps should only be used for keeping the boat from moving forward or back and applied at the right angle, not up and down. On a separate note, Nice Rack! I’d be interested in seeing a few pics from anyone who has built one that can handle 2 boats.

I guess you're not concerned about transporting your PA on PVC? Hobie has clearly stated that the PA should not be stored or transported on PVC. Flat on the hull or Hobie cradles are the only recommended method. Otherwise the rack looks great. Nice job.

Hobie clearly states in the 2019 manual for the PA that you should not store or transport on PVC. I believe they don’t want all of the support along the sides of the boat directly under the scuppers which are the weakest part of the hull. I have a pic of the page from the manual that states this but I can’t copy it here in the comments.
