They also appear (though not explicity) in one of the challenge tombs in the beginnging of the game, the Underworld Gate. They try to kill you by throwing things off a cliff and you stumble upon dead bodies and some notes describing creatures worse than panthers or something like that.

nice video. if you go past the park entrance about 5 miles on ortega hwy and turn left at the fire station you can park along this little road. then its about only a mile to springs. i was there once when a park ranger went by and we talked a bit. he said that they don't encourage people to go in the pools but as long as you keep your shorts on at all times they are okay with it. he sounded serious about it. so i wouldnt hesitate to go in. enjoy!

Thanks for the feedback. Good to know for next time. When I went there, the trail camera kind of threw me off a little and I had read online that the access was totally closed to the public.

Thanks for sharing but archeologists have done research at that sight and proved that the Tongva did not steal the horses, it was just a justification for the colonists to massacre them. It was very common for colonists across North America to make up these claims as an excuse to justify their genocide against the indigenous people.

Thanks for the feedback. I've read that even the massacre of native people on site could never be really proved, but it makes for a good local "legend" I suppose.

I actually did give up last time I went there, but actually stopped very close to the falls (which I did not know at the time). I'm glad I pushed on this time though: the falls are completely worth it.

I have been to Harding falls many times. It is a challenging hike, many obstacles along the way. It’s WAY farther than you think. It often takes me from 9am to 4pm to get to the falls and back.

I have hiking around my favorite reservoir for about 30 years and have never heard this sound...until 2 years ago (maybe 3). Suddenly there is this random, no pattern song mix somewhere in that low brush. Just moved in and set up residence it seemed. For the first 2 years I would stand right in front of his song, about 20 yards distant or less, it seemed, but I could not see the bird tucked away in the dense shrubs near the lake and connected stream. Finally this year, in the morning sun, there was his glowing yellow breast in a wild cherry tree. Breakthrough! Well I kept following the clues which ultimately led me here. I didn't get a recording of him, but my memory did. I think this is the guy. Little gold nuggets like this are why I keep returning to KZbin. Thanks for the post. ☺

All I had to do was try and open the gate. and the dude smashes through the fence. That is not what I expected to be the solution. I went through the entire area without touching the obviously chained up gate to the crane first and then couldnt find the power. good lord this section was silly

Thank you for making this video. I have been looking for information about how to hike from Black Star Canyon Falls up to Black Star Road above. Even though you did it in reverse, I can see that the way up is to the right of the falls. I think others have gone the wrong way, so this is very helpful. I just subscribed, and am going to check out more of your videos!

Yes. At the fall, you need to go right, but the first climb is very steep, and honestly a little tricky at times. The view up there is worth it though.

I'd love to see this place someday. When I first heard about the namesake of our neighborhood park in Anaheim I discovered the house but it was privatly owned or just not open to the public then (early 80's)... Now I'm on the other side of the mountains in Elsinore and no longer drive...
@Frenchylikeshikes

The drive would absolutely be worth it. If only to see Modjeska Canyon rd which is stunning. I guess in the 80s the house still belonged to the family then?

You are 100% right. This was one of the first videos of the sort I made, and I now see all the mistakes that I left at the time. I wish I would have done that differently, but to be very honest, I originally made that video at the time more to have fun than anything else. I also never expected it to actually get more views that what I usually get on my channel (I am lucky when I get 50 views lol). I might re-do another one, better made, if I have both the time and energy.

@Frenchylikeshikes
@Frenchylikeshikes Жыл бұрын
I passed by last weekend and the graffiti is actually getting worst: you can now see it from the highway, and it's a testimony of how irresponsible and disrespectful people are of nature. Now, that hike is very short, it is not really "doing all that". You can get to the falls in 10 minutes (hence all the people going there and nasty graffiti). It used to be a very beautiful, short hike, perfect for families and little kids, and on the "to-do-list" in Cleveland ntl forest. But I understand your comment completely, it seems pointless indeed to go see that. Very sad if you ask me.

Well Tucson AZ is invaded by Californians and apparently have brought Californians squirrels with them because one lives in my back shed . It duh a huge hole and I don’t have the heart to get rid of it. It’s not afraid of me but doesn’t let me pet it not that I want to anyways. I just love seeing it hang around my home. I’d much rather have these over than human Californians that’s for sure!
