Makes me miss grad dad's camp off scenic drive back when you could hunt it and turner river when there were hogs and more deer. Four wheelin at bad luck prairie. So glad i got to see that way of life. Here's to the good old days from a 4th gen cracker.

Young folks should be encouraged to video their hounds, especially since it's so easy with these camera phones. If a picture is worth a thousand words, a video is worth a million because you can hear them too. And blueticks have particularly good voices. Trust me, when you're old, you will appreciate seeing and hearing them when they are no longer around.

@@philkosanke8146 good. keep it as long as you can. the 'glory' days will never return. the cabin was located several miles back of oasis ranger station. not far from hikers trail. kept swampbuggy at jimmies place until he moved. then across the highway where other swamp buggies also were left.

Thats strange because me and my dad put one headlight on our old dodge power wagon and rode probably 50 thousand miles through the Turner river and big cupress,we drove along 41 for the a few years until they banned us,we had many camps, concho billy camp, tiny camp by austins pasture, and we stayed at skunk ape camp a fee times,i miss it,now im on the suwannee looks very similar but not anything like it.

Ive been watching your videos,i moved from south florida spent my days in the big cypress,i just recently got some 30 acres on the suwannee, loaded with hogs some deer and turkey, if i want pork i go there,i would let a good ol boy like you come and get some too.just like the good ol days.

used to hunt along river at andrews and lower suwanee refuge. some parts have cypress domes like big cypress. used to hunt also devils hammock. also st vincent island and bradwell bay. gotten old so semi retired from hunting as dont like gertting up early and all the work with climbers etc. like i used to! all hunting partners have moved away or died as i live between newberry and gainesville! last time hunting big cypress was 1987 i think. first time about 1958 i beleive.. friends at lakeland had the cabin and swamp buggy down there. we went down 2-3 time a year back then.. all over now.

I moved to north florida because of over population, the nps booted us out of our old camp,we couldn't get there anymore, last time i was there was in 2013,i didnt see a living sole out there for a week and only one deer, i sold my swamp buggies and i haven't been back since its a shame but i still want to,so many good memories were made in that swamp.i spent my whole early life in there.

God bless hunting dogs. They run their whole lives, not because we make them but because they enjoy the hunt. After running hard following just a sent trail their only reward is the love and care we give them and to tree the coon or come to the end of the trail where lays the dead deer or hog they were after. The heart brake for the owner is when we have to put them down when their old bodies give up.

A rabbit will attack when confined and cornered. Like 99% of pigs, once it can escape it will. Pigs will attack more readily than some species when provoked, & many work hard at provoking them then exaggerating how dangerous they are.
