My threaded hole on the carb joint is too small to put on intake covers. All 3 of the other holes are 6mm. This 4th one looks like someone plugged it and retapped it smaller. FML.

That stuff tends to only work on a closed loop pressurised cooling setup as its always suspended in the coolant and if it pushes out it will self seal again , on open loop sea water cooling it will just push it straight out and wont stick in the crack once you go ride it out on the water .

If it was a faulty connector you would have the MIL light on constantly, but I didn't hear the buzzer so could the buzzer and light be faulty too!? Check the wiring and ensure the TPS connectors don't have any breaks in them as well.

Your poor running from my point of view, is your barometric is reading very high unless you're up a mountain! I had this and replaced it (under the top side of the dash) but it didn't solve the issue I was having. Cheap fix but fiddly. Lambda sensors may be on their way out. The ECU Dallas chip packs up on them and makes the ECU forget its parameters and does all sorts of weird sh** if it's still on the MBE ECU. Speak to Joolz at Kits and Classic, Coventry. Might be time to send it off or get an upgrade. Anyways good luck with it. 👍

At the start of the video, your adaptives are high because your throttle’s are set too low for idle, they need to be around 18% at idle, definitely need to be much higher than the 13% you are showing.
@I999-g2s5 ай бұрын
The odd bank Tpot governs the fuelling for the odd bank, and the ignition for both banks. The even throttle pot just governs the fuelling for the even bank. So, what you experienced when you disconnected Tpot 1 and it ran rough, is to be expected - doesn’t mean the even throttle pot is bad. Disconnecting Tpot 2 just forces the ecu to use the value from pot 1 and everything will keep running ok, which is what you experienced. Swap them around (physical move the left to the right and the right to the left) and you should see no difference in how it runs (if both sensors are good).

The engine looks great now! A few questions for you: Where there any gaskets between the throttle bodies and the head or is it just RTV used? There are gaskets you can buy from Powers for the Speed 6 but they aren’t essential. I was surprised a local firm couldn’t fix the starter for you. Years ago I had a local company in Adelaide rewind my starter of an old merc from the 1950s! Finally, is there a way to test your new clutch before you reinstall the engine and gearbox? Just to check it disengages correctly.
@mrniceguy3519 ай бұрын
Thanks! There is a plastic (bakelite?) spacer between the heads and the intake. This is recessed to take an O ring on each side. Yeah I don't think they went all out to fix the starter. But I have a new one on the way that was a reasonable price. I guess you could make up some extra long hydraulic lines to test the clutch outside the car. Rather than do that I'll just test it once it's sitting in the car. I don't see it being a problem.
