I feel your pain with the shoulder injury I had a rotator cuff repair on my left shoulder before Christmas. So no racing for me until May.

Another excellent vid Dan and a fantastic insight to what happens behind the scenes. I've been watching the BTCC since the 1980s and am completely cognisant of the eye watering amount of work that drivers [without family money] need to put in to source the funding to do the championship. However there's always been very little said about that and I'm sure there are people out there who think it works like F1 and that drivers have been basically fired out of a team for their performance. So it's very refreshing to see you being so candid about it. Good on you ! I suppose the $64K question is how did you manage to do so much damage to your shoulder ? I had surgery on a SLAP lesion - it was no fun at all - but it does get better with time. It's never quite the same so just take care of it. Fingers crossed you can get the package over the line for this year, we all want to see you out again and it would be fantastic at the wheel of a Hyundai.

Thanks for the honest reaction to Autosport International. It's a complete rip-off in every way these days for the general public. The last few years have been absolutely appalling and a complete waste of time and money. Such a shame compared to how it used to be.

It seems like every BTCC driver needs their own business on the go to keep their racing going. Is this what you're trying to get going? an extra bit of income to supplement the racing?

The first point about knowing which way the wheels are pointing is probably more relevant in sim racing because you’re not getting the force feedback from acceleration through your body that you get in real driving. I have done some fairly lurid opposite lock slides both on the road and in kart racing and always felt i knew where the wheels were pointing without thinking about the steering wheel.

Whatever the future holds we all know u will give it 💯 and that’s what we love

Great vLog Dan and we all hope you're back next year. I don't expect you to talk personally but what's a season in Porsche's cost... and what's a mid-grid touring car seat running at the moment ? How do those weigh up costwise against say GT3 in the British GT championship or even TCRUK ?
