Hey hon I missed this one when it came out :( You are having such fun killing visitors off. And I can hear the frustration with herding 'cats' ... But a fun look at your personnel problems **grin**

Well, midear, you kept me engaged - which is pretty damn good being as I'm not a Minecrafter! Looking forward to the next one :D

Hello David! Although I had no idea what I would be looking at, your narrative kept me interested. (The sunset was lovely!) I think you have a good idea and several ways of overcoming or sidestepping some of the problems you allude to. For the problem of potential sabotage, isn't it possible to "hard save" your game so you have a point to return to before anything went wrong? Anyhoo. Fascinating. :D

"Everyone has the right to live in dignity" right on. Ablesim sucks but as you say it's a big subject. At least we are becoming more awake and aware. Even the disabled can internalise aspects of ableism as its so deeply ingrained in society.

That, my dear, was very well done! Yes, you wriggled a bit (it's very difficult to change vocabulary) but made sense and explained things really clearly. The roundup of character relationships at the end was particularly useful: showing how romantic relationships are for some of the main characters. Epic! xxx

Crumbs. That was very interesting indeed. I don't think you rambled at all! I think preta would be the equivalent of silly sausage *grin* but yes, it is difficult to come up with swears that aren't pejorative to any section of society. You have put a lot of hard work in to researching this topic, and it shows. I'm mildly amused that instead of going genderLESS in language you have the third, the androgyne, and have thought through how that would be signalled in order not to constantly ask/inform someone which pronouns apply. You speak well to camera :D Looking forward to the next one, midear! xxx
@pattiwicksteed37315 жыл бұрын
Hello David. Good effort! The problem with only using un-gendered pronouns, as you so rightly pointed out, is that Reference Assignment is damn near impossible. RA is when we can easily work out what or who is under discussion. My theory is that in a language without a variety of pronouns we'd just use names. It would read very oddly to us.... Your choice to use Ranqa for sex and english for gender is a good way of clearly separating the two. So what do Ar-Manaan ears look like, then? Hur hur hur. And the side track was still interesting :D xxx

Crumbs! Too many choices..... and I am sure you will end up picking whichever is the 'best of the worst'. Muse pressure will undoubtedly assist with that *grin*. Yes, a trifle rambly but that is you being you :D xx

Although, statistically, humanity is actually at its least violent period in all of human history... the violence that DOES happen tends to be dramatic, played out on TV stations around the globe and the internet, instantly, and what might have previously impacted a handful of people suddenly hurts millions. Make no mistake; we are seeing the impassioned death-throes of the way of the hammer. Groups that used to be widely accepted (Nazis, KKK, etc) are now so powerfully stigmatized that they must share their beliefs in private, and so scorned do they feel that they think the only way to "bring back" their belief system is through flashy, violent methods. And they are wrong. And they are losing. Hard. It's just, these days, they're televised. Look for the helpers. There will always be people, in these situations, trying to help. And now, more than ever, people are emboldened to compassionate helping. The helpers outnumber the harmers. And finally... beginning with Millennials, but especially with Gen Z, there is a tsunami of compassion and interconnectedness sweeping this planet. It is a slow tsunami. It is yet building strength. But no continent can escape it. It is coming. It is unstoppable. It's not an if. It's a when.

Mud is definitely good! You packed a lot in there, midear! "If you could change one thing" a counsellor asked me quite some time ago. "I'd choose for the Biafran War not to have happened." She was bemused by this. You, on the other hand, will totally understand. Overcoming our internalised biases is something few of us tackle in such depth. I like the way you challenge my thinking. Keep 'em coming! xxx

Mud is good. All hail mud! Maybe all people should be made out of mud. Then orientation/gender/sex/ability/etc would matter significantly less.
