One understated fact about us Mauritians. We all speak three to four languages. That helps in learning from everywhere in the world and doing business with everyone

The background music is very distracting. Also, there's no need to put the narrative into text on the screen - we can hear the words! ( I guess it helps if one is deaf!). Thanks all the same!

Idi Amin and Muammer Gadaffi were at least comprehensible in their tyranny. This guy was riding on "mountains broken bodies beneath the wheel" logic

Very good presentation about Mauritius economy .Thanks a lot ! So the best ressources that a country have is its people . That is 100% right . Training the people and creating decent jobs are the key to success. And of course free education

Present-day Equitorial Guinea is actually quite successful, coming in comfortably above the median per capita income. Botswana, Rwanda, Seychelles and many other resource-diverse countries in Africa have also seen recent successes. Be less dumb, please.

@@MyselfTheThird But 75% of EG's population live in poverty while the Nguema family control virtually all the wealth. This is the one instance of GDP per capita being misleading.

Fun fact. As a Chinese I heard about Mauritius a lot haha. Why? Same topic, but focusing on that probably also legendary Mr. Moilin Jean Ah Chuen guy, who's a Chinese Mauritian, and a cabinet minister serving under the first PM. I heard that he sort of contributed to the foundation of the modern Mauritian economy a lot, hence his face on Mauritian bank note

You're right. Everybody contributed, Hindus brought political and economic stability and managed the public sector efficiently, the Chinese brought business experiences and expertise from travels to Taiwan and Hong-Kong and Creole and White Mauritians help established the hospitality indudtry Ah Chuen is on our Rs25 note !

This is really intriguing and an eye opener to we Africans alike. To be honest this is the first time I would hear of a mad dictator like Marcias in Africa. Its quite sad the masses had to sign their free will as a contract when they decided to vote him in power. Their next president is no different only feeding excessively into the past and Equatorial Guinea might not be any better even in the nearest future until their freedom is given back.
