As someone who once had an infection that wasn't responding to a year's worth of anti-biotics that created their own serious issues to my health I'm wondering why we don't have a Phage Institute in the U.S. that develops new phage for treatment as a routine part our national security and for public health? Antibiotics have lost their ability to cure bacterial and viral infections because of over-prescribing and because those bacterium and viruses mutate into "super bugs." No Big Phama will spend the research dollars on new antibiotics because that research investment is deemed non-profitable when after 7 years expiration of trademarks any other company can start manufacturing the drugs. This should never be acceptable by citizens and our government should have had a response years ago. Build a Phage Research Institute in the U.S. Stop leaving this stuff up to universities and medical facilities who are driven by profit as well.
