I remember ts jawahar i was a cadet iam 63 now but I remember the officers my favourite midshipman was Mr rebelo & unwala it was hard to get out of bed on Sundays and travel from bandra to afghan church first the train from bandra to churchgate then the best bus to afghan church and i was in 5th grade well today when i recall i ended up with being a harbour tug master still in the middle east as marine operation manager my advice to any child if you love gods creations like the sea go for it and sea cadet corps is the blessed and the best start in my Time discipline was key God bless us all aleluia amen

To the right of the picture is the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, I stayed there a number of years ago. From our window we could see a naval yard and an Aircraft carrier was moored there. It was the HMS Hermes, sold to India in thr eighties and renamed the INS Viral. India still has many places with a British flavour, I know its sad that we colinised them but I feel we should have greater ties. I have been going to India for 25 years.

Staying physically fit during long voyages was one of the main reasons the hornpipe was a thing! This one is pretty authentic too as a lot of the moves mimic motions sailors would make, but in dance fashion. I I seriously love this dance!
