Woocommerce managed sites are only a little more expensive than doing it yourself. That way, the host takes care of security and updates. Many popular hosts like Bluehost and Hostinger offer managed options. Another point is that BigCommerce, like Shopify, can take you down and put you out of business. With Woocommerce, you own the site

As a developer that's worked with Shopify Hydrogen, I can confirm that it makes integrations much more flexible, though more complex than they would be when utilizing Shopify alone. It feels like Linux compared to Windows where anything is possible with the right know-how.

very nice vid, i don't understand why i don't see your vids popping up on youtube more for magento 2 tuts. does your course explain how to troubleshoot the displaying of blocks? it's a common issues it seems like, but not much info on it. basically i'm adding a block but it's not displaying anywhere and i don't see anything in the log files.

We've been focusing on creating educational content for merchant recently which may be why you haven't seen much focused on Magento specifically. Every other week we do still share a Magento question and answer video for developers though! You can find more information about what is included in the Magento 101 Course here: swiftotter.com/magento101 One of our recent Knowlege Bite questions focused on what to do when a block is not displaying: studio.kzbin.info5OBc-KXC69c/edit

Great explanation! This concept really comes in handy for those unique customizations. Also, couldn’t help but laugh at the beginning. I’ve been a coder for a couple of decades now, and I can totally empathize!!!! I have broken my own personal record many times over, and will probably continue to do so for as long as I code. 😂💀. But that’s ok, cause it’s the joy of conquering the little buggers that make it worth it 😜 #DevLife

Really good points and spot on. I've been working with woo since it came out, the plugin updates are annoying with woo. you're rolling the dice every time. but if you know what you're doing it's not bad. Security: get an extra firewall plugin and get dedicated hosting don't ever do shared hosting, pay the extra $$. Most of the issues with woo or WP in general are the cache plugins not set up correctly you need to play around with them. Themes: stick to the most popular ones that get updated fast if there is a bad patch. Checkout for woo absolutely is the worst, again you'll have to get a plugin. My overall costs are about $500 or so I'll be pushing 1 million in sales soon, so woo is doable if you do your homework. But i'm always looking for upgrades.

These look really awesome! My my my what a time we live in 😊 Do any of these support Magento (apologies if you mentioned, i've been multi-tasking today)? If no, do you have any recommendations? A few years ago, I think there was something similar, but I forget the name now. I'm currently working on a site now that (long story short) uses a 3rd party service (Sirv I think it's called?) for 360 product views, and we display the embedded script on the pdp. It works and looks great, but the techie in me sees ShapeDiver and thinks that would be friggin cool 😅

Hi Joseph, thank you for your video! After your previous video "How to pass Magento Interview" or smth like that and failing the interview I understood that I'm a little rusty on Magento and probably it would be a nice idea to get a certificate and refresh my knowledge. Do I understand it correctly, for QA the best test is AD0-E700 aka Magento 2 Solution Specialist? Do you know any good course to prepare for the exam (on Udemy I found only preparation for developers for similar certificates but not this one)?
@SwiftOtterInc8 ай бұрын
The Solution Specialist certification is now Business Practitioner and there is a Professional (AD0-E712) and an Expert (AD0-E708) level. We currently offer a course for the Expert certification. This course does not specifically cover the Adobe Commerce Business Practitioner Professional (AD0-E712) exam. However, there is overlap and you can find benefit in that. You can learn more about this course here: swiftotter.com/training/merchant-training/adobe-commerce-business-practitioner-ad0-e708-exam-prep

I don't know why this video got recommended to me, but I just want to say that looking at the video title and thumbnail, I have absolutely no idea what this video is about. Are you talking about photoshop plugins? audacity plugins? neovim plugins? wordpress plugins? I don't know if you're expecting people to already know your channel and what it's about so they can know what your video is about, but I would imagine that reduces your potential viewers. I don't run a youtube channel, so maybe there's something I'm missing that would explain the vagueness. I don't even know why I care enough to make this comment.

We appreciate you taking the time to comment and share this helpful feedback. While we do have an established audience who follow us for our Magento/Adobe Commerce content, you're absolutely correct that not everyone knows who we are and what we do. Comments like this can only help us make sure we're reaching the people who will benefit from the educational content we strive to create.

I am currently struggling with same kind of situation related to website performance. Issue is we have custom entity which is related to customer. And we need to access that entity throughout the website for different purpose. Currently the developers are calling entity's repository everywhere they need. When I checked on new-relic, that is the most time consuming operation in our website. So I want eliminate that repository call. What can be the best solution for this to access the custom entity throughout the website without accessing them using repository?

Thanks for this video. I am seriously considering the professional developer certification, but I have just basic knowledge in web development. On your website there is "Magento certified developer exam course" and "The Magento 101 Course-get started right on Adobe Commerce". Both are priced differently. What are the differences between them, and which would you recommend?
@SwiftOtterInc Жыл бұрын
I'd recommend starting with the Magento 101 course. Once you get comfortable with the basic concepts there, then you move onto certifications (Professional first). Magento is an Enterprise-level program that is fully customizable. It takes a while to get comfortable, and that's where the Magento 101 course shines.
@MrPelastus Жыл бұрын
@@SwiftOtterInc Thanks a lot. I’ll go with the Magento 101, and I can write a constructive feedback about my experience with the course.

2 years later, the practice exams are still not available in their courses...some of the courses are "retired", meaning its covering the older Adobe Analytics Workspace interface and not the current version. the actual exams are way advance than the mini quizzes Adobe makes you take to complete a course and the coursework to supposedly prepare you are not sufficient.
@SwiftOtterInc Жыл бұрын
We've been told that our practice tests tend to be the opposite-- harder than the actual exam. So while it's not directly from Adobe, our practice tests can be a good option to truly test your knowledge before taking the full exam.

Can u explain if and how customers specific pricing works? Many of our customers have different pricing for the same product.
@SwiftOtterInc Жыл бұрын
Hello @peterforan6139, good question. The short answer is BigCommerce has price lists. The limit here is a practical one. Price lists are assigned to a customer group. Customers are assigned to the customer group. You can create price lists with one customer group, and one customer assigned to the customer group. It would be a little tedious if we are looking at this for hundreds or thousands. There are ways to do this a custom implementation, too, that would streamline management. Either way, this would likely be tied into an ERP via integration so this wouldn't end up being much handwork.

For professional certification renewal passing score is 228/37. approximately how many question out of 37 should be answered correctly to clear the certification ? And also what is the score given for each question?

If January 1 2024 is your expiration date, you have this entire month to go through the renewal process, which is free. If your certification is not expired yet, you do not need to pay to retake the exam.

@sarvagyapandey974 Жыл бұрын
In Magento 2, a preference is a mechanism to override or replace a core or custom class with another class. You can declare it in di.xml file of the module. Once a preference is set, anytime the original class is called, the preferred class will be instantiated instead.
