Right now, native Americans are facing very real issues: narf.org/issues/ and when media depicts them as less-than-human, those issues get worse. The people who approached me about the issues with the Barakoa were from African and American Indian backgrounds. Don’t you think they have a right to determine how their cultures are depicted in media? Just because you like the birds less does not mean you are excluded.
