How can this be done with wrong side bind off 4 stitches then work to end of row?
@PurlSoho
@PurlSoho Күн бұрын
Hi there! The steps will be the same even if you're starting your bind off on the "wrong side". 1. Work the first bind off row as usual. 2. One row before the next bind off row, work to the last stitch of the row, slip stitch purlwise, and turn work. 3. Slip 2 stitches, purlwise. Pass the first slipped stitch (the unworked stitch from the previous row) over the second slipped stitch, binding it off. 4. Bind off the remaining stitches of that row as usual. I hope that helps, but feel free to email us at [email protected] if you need any additional help applying this to the pattern you're working on!

Thankyou so much for your offer of help. I have mastered this technique now after much trying though I am slow yet. I used to do this by knitting a few rows with waste yarn and then the main yarn with a row in between of nylon yarn, not fishing line, which would pull out easily to reveal the stitches. I wanted a better way as I had 300 stitches to cast on! Thanks again!

This is my preferred SSK method by far and I've done comparison tests. I think it creates the tidiest decrease especially if you give a tiny tug to the stitches at the end. You made great tutorials.

@PurlSoho
@PurlSoho Ай бұрын
Hello! I'm afraid that we do not have a tutorial on yoke shaping, since it can vary significantly depending on the construction of the pattern (e.g. raglan yoke, circular yoke, etc). But the way that the yoke is shaped in a bottom-up sweater is always through decrease stitches! You can find our tutorials on k2tog and ssk decreases below: www.purlsoho.com/create/knit-two-together-k2tog/ www.purlsoho.com/create/slip-slip-knit-ssk/ I hope these help, and as always, you're welcome to reach out to us directly if you have any specific questions by sending an email to [email protected]!

Hello! I'm sorry to hear that you're running into trouble with the Jasmine Scarf pattern. It sounds like you may not be working the "p3" that occurs at the very end of the bracketed segment. After you work the p6, you should be repeating the following: p1 wrapping yarn twice, p8, p1 wrapping yarn twice, p3. Let me know if that might be the issue!

Hi, I am hoping you can help me, I have a throw rug I am knitting for my daughter for a special birthday and I really don't wnat to stuff it up! The pattern calls for a band of garter stitches to be added to all four sides and for the life I me I can't work out how to pick up the stitches needed evenly along the edge. There are 301 rows and I need to pick up 260 stitches! The calculator tells me I need to pick up every 1.15 stitches huh? What ratio do you think I should use? Thanks and hoping you can help me! 🤔😁
@PurlSoho
@PurlSoho 2 ай бұрын
Hello! To achieve that ratio, you'll want to alternate picking up 6 stitches for every 7 stitches and picking up 7 stitches for every 8 stitches. That'll even out to approximately 260 stitches along the edge with 301 rows!

Can double knitting, be done with standard needles, rather than double pointed needles?
@PurlSoho
@PurlSoho 2 ай бұрын
Hello! You will need to use either DPNs or circular needles for double knitting, since the technique requires you to slide your work on some rows. You can learn more about turning vs sliding right here: www.purlsoho.com/create/turn-slide. Hope this helps!
