Hi there. This is maybe off topic, but I’ve been trying to get someone to tell me why my walnut trees drip water at times in the summer/fall. It’s like the leaves are raining. Is this normal, or is it something wrong?

Why paint them?
@CaliforniaAgNet5 ай бұрын
They are painted to protect them from getting sunburned. In their early years, they have a very small canopy of leaves to shade and protect the trunk. Once a trunk gets sunburned it may crack and become susceptible to pests and diseases that can kill the tree.

Instead of using pesticides which are harmful to everybody and the environments and not really great for folks when they eat the fruit how about we just cure the virus? After many years of research and trial and error I have discovered a cure for yellow curly top virus and tomato plants. There is no more need for loss or destruction of tomato plants because of this virus. It can be easily cured. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqiwaISner9gaLM

Tree blight tells us there is something wrong with the underlying health of our trees? I wonder if monoculture contributes to this?

i guess this is the way to go for large scale efficiency. We have a tiny hazenut grove here in the mountains. Exact opposite of flat ground. All the trees have been worked into the mountain side on SW facing slope. Good old shovel. Definitely no round-up or anything except for some traps for the japanese beetles that seem to like them. Put down a bit of bone meal and wood ash each year. All the trees look and produce brilliantly.

I think it would be better to have pecan trees. Pecan needs cold, dry winters, wet summers, dry fall. They love to grow near small streams. Walnuts need a different climate than in Central Europe: cold, snowy (wet) winters, damp springs, dry late summers, cool autumns. In any case, you should try to change the variety and ask for help from the Department of Agriculture
