Beautiful, where did you get the pattern?
@MoreStephanieHarford5 күн бұрын
I made it up by using a bodice pattern for the basic sweetheart neckline and princess seams and then did a mid length circle skirt for the bottom with a long rectangle gathered around the bottom for the ruffle. I added straps and then used pics for inspire to place the ribbons/buttons on. :)

I've been so busy, I haven't to this day been able to list them for sale, but I'll be working on a part two and then opening up an online shop to sell them now that I no longer need them for photo shoots. In the meantime, feel free to tell me a timestamp and make an offer and I'll let you know if it's available

This is a year ago but the wedding dress algorithm finally found me--love your collecting impulse, good taste. What you seem to be drawn to is Victorian/Edwardian style that had a resurgence in the late 70s and 80s. You might be interested in looking at the history, which adds to your expertise, especially in videos, but I like your conversational style, and that's important for a youtube channel. Loved that beautiful 50s frock--that's the scratchy one, I recall the feeling of stiff tulle as a child. And one of those had to be made by someone influenced by Georgian or the style of Azerbaijan--that one with the deep pleat in the front, simple with severe embroidery up to the neck and double sleeve. Have a look at traditional Georgian gowns and you'll see the style. The last dress is really interesting, reminds me of Ann Lowe's design for Jackie Kennedy's dress, very whimsical with the ruffles, unique, maybe inspired by Jackie? Anything that comes with gloves is pre-1970 for sure. Thx, fascinating.

Thank you! I'm still trying my best to make better decisions for my health, and haven't had soda since June 9th and have stayed away from most junk foods. It's tough changing habits but I know it'll be worth it in the long run.

@@MoreStephanieHarford I was in my early forties when I was diagnosed stage 4b colon cancer, I didn’t find out until years later that cancer thrives off sugar, it’s been a battle fighting my addiction to soda and carbs (ironically I was never a big fan of candy but chips and soda), it’s a tough road but worth it in the end.

I will say, brown looks good with your complexion. That pink plastic like might be sail cloth or shade sail. Although corsettes are very In right now, that trend will wain. Maybe learn to do some ruffly slips to go with them for walentines. Ruffly bloomers and tap pants. Girls love shiney dresses for prom. You already have the lining foo a wedding dress and enough lave to finish it.

You should open a vintage bridal shop! Think what fun it would be to do the displays in the windows! Plus different dresses coming in all the time...

That would be so fun! Not sure I'll ever get to that level, but the idea is fun to think about!!

I recently found both of your channels and I am in love with your designs. I am a hobby sewist, enthusiast, but far from a professional (for now - I sew for myself and for my nieces). It's nice to see someone who's not trying to sell an illusion, but showing us the real thing, the learning phase, the process and the beautiful outcome as well. We're human beings, we need the real stuff! That's how we learn. So thank you for being brave and sharing this part of your life with us. Trust me, I know what it's like to be in a rough financial situation. I hope all will be well soon, please keep up the amazing work you do, I hope other fellow sewists and people will see, follow and love your content too!!

For the life of me, I don’t understand why no one manufactures dresses like these anymore. Wouldn’t they sell like crazy with the whole cottagecore trend and everything?
@MoreStephanieHarford3 ай бұрын
That’s a good question! But maybe that’s why they hold their value to people since they’re vintage at this point and hard to find? Hmm I dunno haha. But thanks for watching!

Aw that’s so sweet of you to say that!! I’m open to requests but have never done it before. There are some things I’ve yet to learn to always depends on what someone would ask for. And I haven’t made any gowns available for sale but it’s on my bucket list!! 🥰
