Take this from someone who is a frequent visitor of Hong Kong all the way back from the 90s till now… This list kinda is a bit Meh.. In no particular order of things to do in my opinion: 1) visit the budha by taking the mtr to tung chung, take the cable car! Its an incredible experience. Then take a bus or taxi to Mui Wo island or Tai O to walk around and catch the ferry back to central for a great day out! 2) visit the Victoria Peak by the historical tram and take a walk through Hong Kong biological and zoological gardens beforehand or after. 3) take a stroll through from Wan Chai to Causeway Bay. Alot of food and shops all the way down, the unmissable voodoo / Rituals at Gooseneck Bridge in wanchai and then so much life, shops, food and market in Causeway Bay. Theres also the big department store SOGO, with an incredible foodmarket at the bottom floor and the Times Square. 4) yes they are tourist traps but dont forget to take a walk down Ladies Market and Temple Street market over in kowloon area. Great vibes and food all around! Also the West Dragon centre with the roller coaster inside ( no longer operational ) also has many levels of street food! 5) visit the Wong dai Sin temple too to get your fortune told! 6) visit some of the beaches like Repulse Bay and Big Wave Bay. 7) the Tram (ding ding ) is only $3HK no matter how long you ride for, so try and get on one side and ride as far as possible to enjoy the views! Then catch the mtr back for quicker travelling. 8) get an authentic breakfast or lunch at a cafe! There will be a set meal suited for you! 9) Make sure to try some fishballs, Wonttons, congee and other traditional street food from stalls! Also Soy Milk, fresh sugar cane juice and coconuts etc! 10) dont bother asking any locals where they’ll go as most will say travel in land to china these days 😂 they do have a point as most things are cheaper and fresher, so if you have time, see where the locals recommend to visit in mainland! 11) visit the site of where the walled city of kowloon used to be! Also where the old airport was! Lots of history there too!
