I'm so happy to se this. Thank you.❤ I have been working on cars all my life as a pro. Im 60 yo. And for the last 42 year's i have been told that the hemis made over 500 hp, but the industri underestimated the figures for insurance reasons. And i have allways said that the musclecars at that time did not brake 500, not Chevy ford or Chrysler.

Looks like a 70 roadrunner/GTX but it's cleaner without all the cartoon-ie graphics. Found one for myself and I'll be making her into my daily driver with probably a 5.7l hemi and an 8 speed. I want that V8 grunting grumble but with somewhat decent fuel economy for what it is. Thought about a 6.4l hemi, but nah a 5.7 is the way to go. Yes I'm the kook that wants good mpgs in a classic car bite me lol

I've always been a HUGE fan of this body style! I hope it lasts for ages. Everyone seems to rave about Challenger/Cudas, and 68-70 Chargers. But for me, it was always the sexiest body of any MOPAR muscle car!

The VIN gets the win: W for Charger, S for Special price class, 23 for two door hardtop, R for 426 CID Hemi V8, 1 for 1971 model year, G for St. Louis, MO assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The St. Louis MO plant was located in Fenton MO and operated from 1959 to 2009. Looks like it was possibly code B5 Blue but you'd need the fender tag (not shown) to know what options it shipped with. If that's posted, I can decode it.

Do you have any idea why they took the powertrain out of that car? That seems like a really solid car, there was no reason to remove the engine from that car, especially if it was done in 2015. If the engine was removed back when it went into storage in 1977 it makes more sense, as in 1977 these car were literally worthless used cars that no one wanted, but it would make no sense to do that in 2015. There must be a story behind this. I could give you a couple of stories about HEMI cars that had their engines removed back in the 70's...
@ManderscheidMedia17 күн бұрын
@@72442conv I’m sure the engine and transmission were pulled way before 2015. Most likely something broke in the early 70’s but I truly don’t know. Thanks for the thoughts

So it has been a interesting couple of days. I decided to dive into this topic to get some better information (I own a 70 RRC). I have been on the phone with the guy that used to own the manual car, and he knows or has spoken to the other verified owners. IM me if you want the information, it appears there were originally 5 hemi cars built, 4 autos and one manual. The manual is gone and was crushed after it burned in a house fire. The remaining 4 autos (two in Canada and two in the US) are still around. @@ManderscheidMedia
