Toba Marine Technology

Toba Marine Technology is an Australian family-owned business based in Fremantle, Western Australia and run by us, John and Emilia Gray. We love our waterways here in WA and enjoy boating all year round. Our own boating has always been done on a budget, and largely improved by John being an experienced marine mechanic. Throughout the last 30 years, we refurbished a number of older boats, currently finishing a refit of Seahawk45 (51' after extending it), which we are sharing on our various social media channels.

The very first Toba product is now available! MEMU-7 (Main Engine Monitoring Unit) was born from necessity and our desire to improve the running of a boat with practical technology. The 7-inch touchscreen digital gauges module is designed to seamlessly integrate with your existing system and wiring without expensive modifications.

Over the last 4 years we developed a fairly sophisticated drop-in all-in-one unit that is completely adaptable and compatible to all boat engines and sensors. Raspberry Pi powered our very first attempt at a prototype, however, it very quickly proved to be insufficient in what we tried to achieve. In addition, we strongly doubt that every boat owner is capable of hardware and software engineering to replicate what we so proudly present to the worldwide marketplace. In saying that, if you have expertise in hardware engineering and would like to share your thoughts on how to implement Raspberry Pi to recreate what we made, please do reach out! We found it extremely challenging to find the right people to help us bring our idea to life. We are always open to suggestions on how to make it more affordable and useful to boating enthusiasts like us. And lastly, before you decide to diminish or put down a genuine family-owned business, perhaps research and do your due diligence when it comes to our product. We welcome your thoughts!
