I've noticed she was more comfortable and "self confident" during this time (the velvet rope era). As you said it, she speaks with her "real voice". My guess is, she was fresh from therapy. She felt better than ever, more comfortable and confident.

Well, Renee was just mad because she dropped him because he cheated on her. He never got paid any of her money. He fault for it but never got anything and she said that in her song. Larry said, thanks for the braces..LOL…he meant to say thanks for the bracelet.

Janet and Larry were good friends so it probably was easy for her to agree to the interview. I bet it hurt Janet when he died. I remember when they were on the Larry King show dancing hand in hand. Oh, I know it broke her heart to hear that he passed on.

@Terryz T Janet used to brag about him a lot to the media, but that dude was very trash to her most of the time. Most of the problems she was dealing with in life were caused by him. So glad she divorced him. I wish it would've been much sooner.

Ki Ki Facts!!! He use to beat her ass and she protected him for years. I think because he contributed to her overall brand. I also believe that when she went through her deep depression; he contributed to her pain. Another caveat; I think they broke up around this time (‘98) but were still “friendly” due to their working relationship. I remember seeing her and Q-Tip at the VMA’s together in ‘99. Jan’s always gone for the bisexual type of men.... I wonder why?🤔
