All the 'heads' who were into the ZX Spectrum in CPT at the time used hang out at Electronic Supermarket in Burg street on a Saturday morning. Anyon remember Pierre ? Justin Graham ? Sandy ? I always wondered what happened to those guys.
@cquirke13 ай бұрын
For sure, I remember Pierre and Justin; I was also deep into the Gush interface, wrote a disassembly of the 8k ROM with Rock's help, and did the FRED newsletter for a year. Wrote utilities for the Gush, e.g. a Run menu, support for 4 directory pages, sector editor, and a code relocator from a$ to Gush's 8k shadow RAM. Was a fantastic learning experience; Rocky was a genius!

@@cquirke1 It is you ! Lol, I remember FRED well, I did a games zine at the time , Spectrum Connection - lol. I cant believe its you. Those were good times, I was just a teenager , I'm 51 now. Always look back fondly on those days hanging out at Electronics Supermarket on a Saturday and copying games until we were blue in the face. Tomahawk, Elite and all the arcade conversions that came later. I remember Justin actually started writing his own version of Xevious in Z80. Good times. I hope you are well Chris.

Can’t believe I’m stumbling on this. I still have my zx spectrum and Rocky Gush floppy interface and floppy drive. Not sure if it still works as it’s over 35 years old, but literally have hundreds of games on old disks.

This is one of my favorite interfaces. Do you have a possibility to make a dump this disks?
@Johnportuesi6 ай бұрын
@@skotii I'd need to dig it out and see exactly what remains and if t still works. My last Spectrum was the 128k plus 2, I tend to remember their being compatibility issues. It's also with a box of dozens of tapes of copied games and loads of originals too. I would have very little idea how to get them off the floppy drives onto a contemporary format even if it did work.
@skotii5 ай бұрын
There is no easy way to do this. One option is to use a Gotek with FlashFloppy to make a full disk copy. However, if I remember correctly, the interface won't allow copying the disk if there are snapshots. I'm using the Greaseweazle device: github.com/keirf/greaseweazle/wiki

Is csX jumpers and JP1 to select roms sizes ? I've some eproms 2716 and 2764, can I use then ?
@skotii6 ай бұрын
For most cases close CS12 jumper. JP1 is only used with W27C512. 2716 eprom is only 2kb. I don`t think you can find rom that size. 2764 is 8kb so it can be used. More info github.com/konkotgit/MSX-Spider-Cart

Hey :) I have the Spiderwave OPL4 card, but playing MOD or S3M files on my turboR GT using the MOONMODT util is giving annoying crackling sounds. The original Moonsound card doesnt have that issue. Then again, other utils using spiderwave opl4 such as NOP MOD PLAYER, SYMBOS MOD PLAYER or even MBWAVE don't give issues... Is this a known issue? Thanks for responding :) Edit: Roboplay also gives crackling noises when using Spiderwave card...The original Moonsound card doesn't have this issue using Roboplay.

😢I successfully assembled a floppy disk interface TDC-600 clone. I connected to OMEGA and connected GoteK flash floppy to run the game. However, while reading the file, it freezes on a black screen. (But interestingly, some games are running well.) Gotek Floppy Action LED is on but OMEGA is stopped. Some games have a start screen, but will stop after a while. Is it an MY Omega problem? Or is it a TDC-600 clone issue? The TDC-600 clone was tested by assembling two different production years WD37C65. "Fire Hawk" logo comes out and reading the disc, and at the bottom of the page, there's a broken graphic like that and it stops.

Hi there! Nice project!! I want one of it, so the gerbers files that you provide are useful... but in order to get the components assembled I neeed a two additional files, the Bill of Materials (BOM) and the Pick&Place File/Component Placement List(CPL). I need the Pick & Place data to accurately place the surface mount and through-hole parts on circuit boards. Pick & Place data is the machine file in ASCII text format which comprises reference designator, X/Y locations, rotation, top or bottom side of the board. How could I get them? REgards
