So simple but I definitely didn't think of that. I'm working on a horn pattern that I had to change because it was hurting my fingers to try to sc into a slip but I'm going to give it another go.

Is it best to start the 1st scallop several stitches to the left, rather than at the corner, so that at the very end (where you join the last scallop to the first scallop) the last scallop will also go over the corner like the other corners? Or am I doing something wrong?

If that's the look you like, then yes! :) And it gives you a little room to fudge it if needed!

I can’t understand any of these steps. Your demonstration is far too fast.

I watched it on half speed, pausing at each step, and learned the stitch very quickly that way. Maybe that could help you too?

I’m having a hard time understanding. Would be nice if you explain while crocheting, then I will probably understand it more. I’m a beginner and a visual learner. Thank you 🙏 😊

What size hook are you using. Do we follow suggestions on the yarn label or do we larger? Thank your for tutorial. I love this pattern.

Excellent demo of how to do this stitch! I have been doing a stacked standing single crochet to start my next double crochet row, which looks better than a "chain 3" (because the tutorial I was following showed to do this) but your standing double crochet is much neater! Thanks for the very clear instructions. I have saved this in my favorites and subscribed! 👍💕

This video is very un-pedagogical. Its hard to see how its made movement by movement. Also with this complicated pattern - show the whole shawl and _every_ row for every movement. Also wierd hook… Sad because the shawl looked beautiful. But both written pattern and this vid is impossible to follow :(

Super beginner and I’m not sure how to tie off the beginning and end to where there isn’t a huge knot
@mooglyblog
@mooglyblog 4 күн бұрын
Hello! Generally in crochet we try to avoid too many knots in the fabric, so for both the first and last end, you'll want to weave in your ends really well with a yarn needle!

What if you need to extend it the opposite direction of your stitches e.g. if youre crotcheting a rectangle shape and the taller sides are going bottom up with single crotchet stitches, and the sides are the shorter lengths going left to right. I need to extend the left to right row but the stitches is going the wrong way if that makes sense
@mooglyblog
@mooglyblog 4 күн бұрын
I think I understand what you mean - you need to add stitches to the other side of the fabric, but Right Side vs Wrong Side means you'd be messing those up. In this case, I would recommend a different technique - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eafJiYiHpKimd9Usi=LDwSVsEWuChtbctA It's demonstrated there with single crochet, but it can be done with other stitches as well. I would start by slip stitching to the top of the last stitch of the row, and then working the foundation stitches from there. Let me know if this is something you'd like to see a demo of!

@@mooglyblog Ooo tysm!~ A demo would be super helpful 🙏🩷 After extending one row with that method would I need to tie off and slip stitch into the row below to extend the entire piece?

Nah you really should chain 3 and when inserting into first chain, grab the little back stitch as well. Much cleaner!

Not sure if you'll see this, but would you know what you'd do differently for a moss stitch or would it be the same process?

Great question! It would be the same process, but I would probably run a safety line on two rows, just to be sure!

Tamara, I just found you. Your instructions, videography and voice make your video so easy to follow your patterns. I really both the bag and the pouch. I will do the pouch first. One for my daughter in law as she walks and bikes a lot. Also one for my granddaughter who will like the small one as well.
