What's really incredible if you know the fact that he had been so messed up with his heroin addiction had not used the horn and had to tape the cork back on to use it on the session.

Great album! Just to drop a name, Bob Zieff is an old friend of mine, still sharp as a tack at 95! Bob wrote some beautiful songs for Chet.

I’ll never forget the first time I listened to “Wise One.” Words cannot express what it felt like.

So glad to see commentary on this incredible music- It’s still on every jazz club’s playlist on breaks! Notice Bud Powell’s furious triplets ! Ty Uploader

Thanks for this fantastic video. This album is by far one of my favorites and I heard a lot of stuff about its making, but your explanation is not only informational, but you have the sensibility to approach what really counts, the atmosphere. I agree that this album was a turning point on Miles mind and heart, THANK YOU !!! Great channel!

Was this the first supergroup? Three jazz gods and two demi-gods. I've seen this also titled the Greatest Jazz Concert Ever. You could certainly make that case.

I really enjoyed this. This and Smack Up are my two favourite Art LPs from the time. He also made many wonderful records after Contemporary too. His book is a tough read but also very interesting. It’s good to watch a video by someone who knows the music well - many thanks

I really like the idea of music as solace or healing and what could be more healing than Crescent or my go to - Ballads. Great video - many thanks

Bill Evans the greatest of all time.

The first time i hear someone acknowledge how "Ascenseur pour l'échafaud" is a significant precursor to "Kind of blue". Thank you ! ;D There is a sort of brisk, fresh simplicity to KoB that he seems to have come to in precisely this recording. I think one even hears it at times in the few concerts made with that band such as kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJSaoWSKl7-knrM One could put the KoB sleeve notes of Bill Evans straight on this record, too.

I found this album yesrs ago at a local flea market. I had no idea what it was but the liner notes by the famous jazz d.j. Michiel de Ruyter made me buying it. I've never seen another copy and I'm glad I bought it when I saw it.

Leuk! En zeker een prachtplaat. Wist niet dat ‘Scotty’ zo snel hierna overleed. Blijft treurig.
